Ok so after a few headaches I found out what my issues were. Unix tty ports by default work in two modes, raw and cooked. I considered this, the 'sendMassage' function is passed a value of '5' that is a five second delay after sending the message and before returning. So there is a delay in place.

Hi All, Ok so have a little projetc at work to use a web interface to talk to my controller via serial. Issue, cant recive data.. sudo apt-get install chromium-browser

...all works well. Just as slow, sorry, fast as the default browser but handles pages much better.

At least a good starting point for people to throw stuff in and link back the the Wiki. For example a HOWTO on installing and setting up a web server would point to different pages on the Wiki(?) ie, Lighttpd, php5-cgi, mysql etc

Using Mobile Twitter did the job-!

Could be better, but guess one of the other distro's may be better... need to test at some point.
