@pgman, that an intersting issue you've got, I've no idea what's the cause.
I would get another rtc (it's cheap) in the hope that the malfunction is with the current rtc and prob both of the rtc's (a scope would be nice), try to fix it and learn something in the process.

Re: Help with RTC
@pgman, if you read my post you'll notice that I'm refering to v1.1 (white solder-mask) that some users suggested to remove the R2, R3 which is incorrect, your board is v2.0 and the devices naming quite different. I had issues during startup when trying to register the i2c device too early before th...

Re: Help with RTC
Has anyone that removed the R2, R3 on the TinyRTC v1.1 made a real test with no network after pulling out the plug. On the schematic pdf the R2, R3 are indeed pullups but this is for v2.0. Respectively to the silkscreen on v1.1 the R2, R3 are connected to the battery, removing them means disconnecti...

Re: FM Radio....
I haven't tried it with my Raspberry, yet, and giving this a second thought maybe limiting the usb hub on the Raspberry to usb1.1 as done with external usb sound cards also will fix this issue, meaning adding dwc_otg.speed=1 to cmdline.txt. The issue with this solution is that you're limited to use ...

Re: FM Radio....
JustJ, thanks for the hints. I've finally stopped working with vm's and installed linux on my laptop and the device works flawlessly. I'm using fmtools to tune in and arecord|aplay to listen to the stream. I've no issues with the device, maybe your issue related to usb power issues, try a powered us...

Re: FM Radio....
I also struggle to get this device work in linux. I believe the issue is that the firmware of the device isn't updated. I've complied an updated firmware from the sources on silabs site as binary and hex files but I don't have any suitable programer (and won't get one just for this). There was an in...

Re: DTS-MA passthrough
Hi Raspberry P Foundation. I would love to give my donation to make this happen. Just create a Kickstarter page or choose any other path to collect funds for this feature. By all means I would happily support this and donate if you choose to use 50% of the collected funds to give free RPi's for scho...

Re: Boblight possible?
This thread is quite confusing, but I don't want to open a new one, so I'll post here. First of all boblight consist of two parts, the client and the demon. A client is the machine that its display you want to analyze and send this information to the demon. For example a client it's a RPi running XB...

Re: How to get AirPlay working.....
From the last time I checked XBMC Airplay feature is only enable on linux with the alsa sound driver.
Right now alsa driver for the SoC of the RPi isn't quite ready (but it is in development), so no Airplay on XBMC for the RPi, yet.

Re: The forum's design isn't my cup of tea.
<r>It's horrible, it's narrow, the font is too large, the numbers of topics in a page is too small, i absolutely hate it (sorry if i'm too harsh).

I love the forum concept in large, it's the best way to share guides, ideas and get support.

I think the person who chose this desi...
