Re: epiphany browser on Pi2 crashes

Just for the record I have experienced epiphany crashing when playing youtube videos on the pi1, but it is not predictably reproducible. As for playing video on YouTube I find if I right click a link in YouTube and click open link then the video will play, but if I just left click on the link epipha...

Re: What should you set your Pi too in "Turbo Mode"?

I tend to agree. I have managed to corrupt my apt-get database/ file on 2 separate occasions on 2 sdcards, resulting in reinstalling the img file onto the sdcard. (I have used debian for over ten years and never ever had a problem with apt/aptitude before) Now I have not lost any data but i imagine ...

Re: raspbian boot failure

Re: Have IP address, but can't browse

Are you using a static IP address? Sometimes the router does not provide the name of a dns server so you might have to tell the pi where to look to resolve dns. The file is /etc/resolv.conf. Can anyone tell us if resolv.conf is setup to a valid dns? A valid file is using open dns is nameserver 208.6...

Re: SD Card Benchmarks

Have we a set of benchmarks on the pi that we can use as a standard way to measure sdcard speed. I am just about to buy some sd cards (probably 2 upto 32G) and i am not too bothered about speed but I will post my results if there is a standard benchmark

Re: mplayer or omxplayer

Sorry for the noise

My mistake. I must have been watching video on the older debian squeeze image. I assume the old img used a different videocore default. onece I changed the videocore memory it worked again.

Thanks

ps. What a cool little device this is.

mplayer or omxplayer

Hello First of all I must say I am very impressed with the new debian image, but I am slightly confused with which video player i should use. i have only used omxplayer once and it seemed very smooth but I did an aptitude install of youtube-dl and i guess it did something to ffmpeg to make omxplayer...

<t>Sagemath. A great maths app that can not only run on the device (probably a little underpowered?) but if connected to a network can be used in a browser connected to a sage server. Great in a classroom situation or for homework and also has the advantage that it accepts python scripts. At 600MB i...
