Re: Openelec CEC stopped working

Weirdly the remote is working again now i'm home, still unsure whether its down to the tv, pi or cable.. Also managed to get the thumbnails up, selected Both options within the video settings and also deleted Textures13.db, one of those fixed it :D So all good now and on the latest openelec, unfortu...

Openelec CEC stopped working

Hi all, I use a B model pi 1 solely nowadays as a media steamer from my NAS. Up until a few days ago I used my Sony TV remote through CEC to navigate menus, play, pause etc - basically everything. But with no changed made and for no apparent reason it just stopped working. I was using an old openele...

TV remote CEC with xbian

Hi guys, i have a Sony KDL-37ex403 tv and before upgrading to version 7 of Xbian there were keypresses available that no longer work. For eg when pressing the info button (i+) on a filename it would go to the info page for that file where it would search the net for its IMDB page so you could add fa...

Re: Connecting to a Seagate Freeagent Goflex Home

I own a Goflex Home. OpenElec on the Raspberry Pi sees the DLNA shares on it without any problem. The web interface for configuration which you can also use to manage your files is a flash application so won't work with the Raspberry Pi. You only need the web interface for initial setup, once it's ...

Connecting to a Seagate Freeagent Goflex Home

Has anybody used Xbian to access a Seagate Freeagent Goflex Home NAS on their network ?? I'm tempted to buy one but looking at the instruction manual - http://www.seagate.com/files/www-content/support-content/home-entertainment/goflex%20home/_shared/docs/GoFlex%20Home%20User%20Guide.pdf- its a bit c...

Re: Omx player

When i was using the Squeeze release i installed Openelec as well and if i wanted to watch a video i just ran openelec and viewed it in XBMC which is a great gui so any user can find their way round it. At the moment i'm solely using my pi as a media server so have installed Xbian instead which is t...

Re: XBian - Small, Fast, Lightweight XBMC solution

Got mine working :) Not sure if its a power issue but after removing my memory stick and then rebooting it shows eth0 in the last part of the bootup. I rebooted and immediately noticed that the Date in XBMC was now correct (was 1970 or similar before) and the time had changed to 24Hr clock. I went i...

Re: XBian - Small, Fast, Lightweight XBMC solution

/etc/profile Thanks, delteted the CLEAR command and now it stops with all the info on screen. The difference to this than with squeeze tho is that with squeeze the last thing listed on bootup is the network config stating eht0 info and what the ip address of the pi is, on this i don't get any of th...

Re: XBian - Small, Fast, Lightweight XBMC solution

Hi guys, i've backed up my Squeeze/openelec image and installed Xbian 0.4.1 and love how smooth even the movement of the cursor is, but i can't get my network to connect. It was working fine with the old setup and same lead works fine in my TV but for some reason this release isn't picking it up. I...

Re: XBian - Small, Fast, Lightweight XBMC solution

I'm using Squeeze with openelec which i guess in effect runs openelec on its own, and find xmbc is excellent for what i want from a media player. My only problem is that when i stop a file or click the home (house) icon it goes back to the main screen wallpaper but with no menu and only shows the ti...

Re: How can I measure the power usage of peripherals?

Something like this maybe
http://www.maplin.co.uk/plug-in-mains-p ... itor-38343
I'd imagine if you note down usage for the Pi alone then add peripherals you can see the difference and work out what each thing uses.

Re: pi problem

The usual answers would be to try a different PSU and double check that the SD card is slotted in snuggly.
Maybe if your're using HDMI try composite or vice versa ?

Alaso check the troubleshooting Wiki as something on there might jump out at you as an option.

Re: Can't connect to pi from win 7 PC

Well the last thing i did with this yesterday was editing a registry key, i found last night that if i put the pi's ip address into my browser it came up with XBMC page - good so far. Then this morning i tried going to Run and typing in the ip address and a list of folders from the pi came up, i've ...

In reverse order: Black borders - see http://elinux.org/R-Pi_Troubleshooting#Big_black_borders_around_small_image_on_HD_monitors http://elinux.org/RPi_config.txt#Video_mode_configuration I SSH and VNC are much simpler protocols, which is why it's much easier to get them working than Samba/SMB. Re: Android XBMC remote and OpenELEC

Ok cheers mate, I've got several pages open with info I'm gonna wade thru and will have a look at those web settings when the little'uns go to bed.
I did read one thing that mentioned enabling a Web Server so it all sounds pretty logical.

Thanks.

Did the job, Cheers !!

Had to scandisk the SD card tho to delete Start.elf before it'd let me copy the new version over. Hopefully not a sign of a dodgy card.
