Re: 2 DHCP IP addresses but only one interface enabled

SOLVED: I got the IT dept to check the DHCP logs--the AP is allowing certain traffic through, such as DHCP, but blocking other traffic using MAC filtering. The DHCP server is assigning an IP address to both of my interfaces.

SOLVED: 2 DHCP IP addresses but only one interface enabled

I have a strange issue that doesn't match all my previous networking experience. I configured Stretch to try to connect to WiFi with a wpa_supplicant.conf: country=CA ctrl_interface=DIR=/var/run/wpa_supplicant GROUP=netdev update_config=1 network={ ssid="<ssid>" scan_ssid=1 psk="<password>" key_mgmt...

@InsideJob: thank you. Your information is sound and that's the bulk of the approach I took after reading this:

Re: [Tutorial] How to move away from NOOBS

Out of date or not, this is just about the only instructions in the world that deals with ridding oneself of NOOBS while preserving all the hard work of configuring Raspbian. Furthermore, my NOOBS install predates the original post and NOOBS doesn't get updated except by exceedingly deliberate actio...

Re: [Tutorial] How to move away from NOOBS

The sector size math did not work out for me. Here's what I originally had on my NOOBs SD Card: Device Boot Start End Sectors Size Id Type /dev/sdb1 8192 2496093 2487902 1.2G e W95 FAT16 (LBA) /dev/sdb2 2496512 64778239 62281728 29.7G 85 Linux extended /dev/sdb3 64780288 64845823 65536 32M 83 Linux ...

Re: Volume was not properly unmounted ...

Just in case someone else has the same problem I had: I tried the full git clone procedure including a 'make install' step but was not able to clear the dirty bit with 'sudo ./fsck.fat -V /dev/mmcblk0p5' - I had to use 'sudo ./fsck.fat -a /dev/mmcblk0p5' on my NOOBs install and then 'sudo ./fsck.fat...

Re: Remove NOOBS and migrate Raspbian to new microSD card

I found this information helpful in my quest to rid myself of NOOBs and run a pure Raspbian environment. I don't believe all the malarkey about USB drives being more reliable than SD Cards - they use basically exactly the same technology. I suggest that the rsync command "rsync -ax --progress / /mnt...

Re: Cloning Raspbian Partition from a NOOBS SD Card

I know this thread is old but in case it helps other people, it's be better to add the x and H options in the rsync command to exclude other file systems and preserve hard links. Also, I followed this procedure and the resulting SD Card caused continual rebooting of my RPi. After several hours of po...
