rghubert wrote:Great. Many thanks! Do you think this driver will also support the FT232RL ( http://wiki.in-circuit.de/images/d/da/610000191A.pdf ) that I have already? I'm searching for the difference between drivers -- if any -- but don't see anything yet.
Yes. I have the same chipset device. works like a charm.

Re: Windows 10 IoT Core Simple Serial Example not working

I'd be interested if anyone ever finds out a way to get the FTDI adapter working. To be clear, using https://github.com/Jark/FTDISample I am able to read and write to an FTDI USB to serial device. It has instructions for installing the driver and using the library. It is not compatible with the gen...

This is sort of a known issue. Re: How to disable Windows 10 IoT logo during boot?

Perhaps you can purchase a license that will allow you to remove the logo? As with a lot of "free" (as in beer) game engines, you can use them without paying a licensing fee or royalties, but only if you leave the splash logo on screen and follow their branding guidelines. If you buy a commercial li...

Re: FTDI driver status

I downloaded am FTDI driver for Windows RT from this page: http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/D2XX.htm. I was able to install it; I am trying to connect the Windows 10 IOT RPi2 to an Arduino Nano with Firmata. When I list the devices status I see this below: USB\VID_0403&PID_6001\A5047JS4 Name: FT232R...

Re: FTDI driver status

I know that some people had open requests with FTDI for drivers, and I was hoping to get an update on the status of those requests. I don't think "use raspbian" or "use linux" is an appropriate response for the Win 10 IoT support forum. I have specific reasons for using Windows 10 IoT. I found a blo...

FTDI driver status

I am working on an application that requires communicating with some arduino hardware using an FTDI FT232R USB to serial (this one from Sparkfun https://www.sparkfun.com/products/12731) I tried using devcon.exe to install the FTDI D2XX WinRT drivers on my RPi2, but they fail to install with an error...

Re: media files?

It seems to be working with the latest release. I have not hooked up speakers to the analog out to verify that sound is playing, but the time elapsed and time remaining counters are updating.

thanks for the help.

Re: media files?

I did post a similar topic on the MSDN forums but have not gotten any replies yet.

I am going to try installing the latest build on the PI and see if that nets any better results.

thanks

Re: media files?

So i did manage to get my PI to read the music files from a USB flash drive using RemovableStorage - hooray! The ID3v2 tags were extracted correctly. unfortunately, the MediaElement object is calling the MediaFailed event handler, and the error returned is MF_MEDIA_ENGINE_ERR_SRC_NOT_SUPPORTED : HRE...

media files?

Apologies if this is more of a general windows 10 app question - I am writing a small jukebox application with a non-interactive UI. something that just displays the song title, artist name, time elapsed and time remaining. I want the app to randomly select songs from a list and play them without an...
