Re: Samba on Raspbian Jessie 4.4.13v7

Make sure you run 'sudo apt-get update' to update the package info before trying to install samba. That's the point - I can't let my Raspbian to update generally, because my touchscreen drivers are not working with newsest versions of Raspbian. 'update' will only update the package information; it ...

Samba on Raspbian Jessie 4.4.13v7

Hello! Due to problems with toch display Waveshare 7" rev 1.1., I had to install pre-made image of Raspbian Jessie: 016-05-27-raspbian-jessie_4.4.13v7_20160620. I can't update Raspbian by apt-get update and apt-get upgrade because my display will stop working. But enough of the introduction. I want ...

As I wrote in the first line, the script is not being written by me in the command line. My RPi boots and it automatically starts a script. I am starting a script in /etc/rc.local. This script is starting xinitrc: if [ -f /boot/xinitrc ]; then ln -fs /boot/xinitrc /home/user/.xinitrc; su - user -c '...

Hello I have configured Pi to start one script, then a window manager (I can't remember what manager is it) and then chromium browser. I want to get to the console, but at view ctrl+alt+F1 I have a console that has script run, on F2 I have the browser view, and on other Fs, I get only black screen w...

Re: Raspberry Pi not connecting to hidden SSID WIFI

Sorry for not replying for a long time. I'll try what KLL propose, but now I have another problem: After MrEngman solution for newer network setup, wifi didn't work, so I put an ethernet cable to Pi. Now, there is an internet connection via cable, but my router doesn't see my Pi nor I can access it ...

Re: Raspberry Pi not connecting to hidden SSID WIFI

I just thought that someone who wants to hack wifi will try to hack visible networks as their owner don't bother about security, ergo: has a poor wifi security.

Re: Raspberry Pi not connecting to hidden SSID WIFI

I can't and I don't want to wipe all my Pi sd card off. I'm working on some project and everything works fine, but this freakin' wifi. Now, the only access to Pi I got is by ethernet cable and PuTTy. I tried wicd-curses, and my dongle finds my wifi ssid (signal power is only 20%... but sometimes 100...

No answers found, that make my wifi work. Really the only way to make it work is to broadcast my SSID?

Re: Raspberry Pi not connecting to hidden SSID WIFI

I must disagree about the security of the hidden SSID. I don't want to have less secure home network just to make my RPi wifi work. I tried everything I found... Maybe this is a new problem, which came after some software update of Raspbian?

Raspberry Pi not connecting to hidden SSID WIFI

I have a problem with edimax ew-7811un on my Raspberry Pi. I am trying to connect to a hidden SSID, let's call it "hiddenssid" with a WPA2 Personal password "hiddenpassword". I can see wifi dongle in iwconfig. I created a PSK version of my password: $ wpa_passphrase "<Your Wifi SSID>" "<Your Wifi PA...

Re: Screen-saver on and off

Finally, the screen turns black, but DPMS doesn't turn the monitor off. It just changes the color, not shutting the backlight off.
