I find it fast enough for everything I do except web browsing.
The fact that it only has 100 megabit Ethernet is also a no go for me. I need my gigabit LAN.

Your router probably has a way to find the IP of all connected devices. Look at your router config.

What is OTG? I know that it stands for On The Go, but does it contain special circuitry or is it just a micro-USB connector?

If you are using the 2016-5-17 version of Jessie you are good. Otherwise upgrade on the RPi 2 before using the card on a 3.

I tried a Pi for a media center and found it did not have two features I wanted. Wake on lan and gigabit ethernet. I use a PC based on a cheap Celeron Mini-ITX board that has both. I can turn it on from my desktop machine upstairs and move files back and forth fast.

Try one of the I2C pins, they have hard wired pull-up resistors.
Physical pin 3 (GPIO 2), or physical pin 5 (GPIO 3).

You won't find another board that has as good of community support as the RaspberryPi.

Problem solved. It works if unmount the partition and open a terminal and start it from the command line with sudo.

I am trying to use the SD card copier from the latest version of raspbian. I am using a model 3 with a 64 gig card and everything else seems to work well. My fellow Minnesotan is correct, you need to solder the buttons.
Buy the buttons mentioned on the same page as the screen, it will be cheaper to avoid paying shipping twice, and you know they will fit.

Yes, If I were doing it I would use wiringPi (http://wiringpi.com) and write programs in C that are called by the menu.

wiringPi lets you write programs using the GPIO in a style similar to Ardiuno.
