Re: xbian help please

I was going to try load that into a seperate os that I could switch between in the pi so could not up in either openelec or to a for ecu reading. Seem one on Internet that read not only codes bit had all the oil, water temp, revs and so on. Was hoping to do it on a pi for the size of it. But unfortun...

Re: xbian help please

I've done what I can but the openelec program I was sent doesn't do what I was wanting. I've looked at how to get maps and software to read car ecu but don't seem to be able to get a download to work on it. So this project is now going to be abandoned and the pi put away in scrap draw. So let down o...

touchscreens

Does anyone know if a 6" touchscreen is available for the pi?. I bought a 7" screen but it's too big for the hosting space I've got for it to fit into. The 5.7 is too small and the 6.2 is slightly too large to fit too. Any links would be appreciated. I have seen one available but at £139.99 compare...

Re: xbian help please

So over the last few days I've been in contact with a ebay shop called the-pi-os-shop. The bloke in there had been very helpful and as advised me to use the openelec programme instead as he says the xbian has stability issues on the pi2 and has recommended that I don't use it until the problems are ...

momentary off button advice

I've been looking at this guide for a off button with script for shutdown procedure. https://embeddedcode.wordpress.com/2013/10/18/adding-a-shutdown-button-to-the-raspberry-pi/ These pins here. https://embeddedcode.files.wordpress.com/2013/10/raspberry-pi-gpio-layout-p5-underside.png It looks like i...

Re: xbian help please

I've managed to get xbian to download onto the sd card but now have a problem installing it on the pi. It starts to load up but apps just after it starts on the loading kodi stage. At that point the screen flickers blank and the Green light starts to fade in its flashing and then it stays that way f...

Re: xbian help please

Maybe that's why it hadn't worked, when it downloaded it didn't comeup with that selection screen with the choose and where to. It just downloaded on its own to the sd card. I did try both the windows selection and the raspberry pi2 selecting tho. Could it have anything to do with the pc using windo...

Re: xbian help please

I also tried to download both programs direct to the sd card on both the pc (running Windows 10) andon the pi (plugged direct to Internet.).
I know it must be me doing something wrong but I'm close to giving up on it, I struggle enough with my disability as it is and this is tiring me out.

Re: xbian help please

That link is the one I downloaded it from. I put it on a sd card and put it in the pi and it didn't do anything. I rid it on a usb stick and that didn't do anything either (can't even find a directory to open the memory stick). I did the sudo get update and spent 40 minutes waiting for it to update ...

xbian help please

I would like to install xbian onto my pi but I have been unable to get it to open the download as it keeps asking me what application to use to open it. But I can't see which one to select on the options. My pi came with noobs edition but all I want it to do is work as a car pc/media centre. Can any...

Re: Autosound and Navigation

Hope you manage to get this to work as I'm interested having these features on the one I'm trying to make. Unfortunately tho they won't paste or link the script for ya on here as they want everyone to learn it. I've recently found this out after asking advice too. (learning to write script wasn't pa...

Thank you for the help on them. I will try to have a work on some coding before I look on them. I understand that you would prefer people to learn and I will with projects going forward. This one tho I was hoping to be able to get it ready for a car show that's on in a few weeks which is why I was h...

Re: project 001 servo multiway controller

I've been looking on Google a lot. There are some threads which people have asked for help for the same as what I'm wanting to do but when they ask for help all the answers just confuse the person asking the question. The closest one I've found was on the arduino forum which a bloke wants a program ...

Re: project 001 servo multiway controller

Thank you for your advice Joan. Im going to learn how to do this but it's going to take time. The nano was bricked after I plugged it in to the laptop so that's now in bin. So to start with I'm going to break it down into sections. Firstly I want to learn how to write a script to make the motor move...

Re: project 001 servo multiway controller

Thats very true, I haven't a yet, but I enjoy learning. This is why I'm trying to learn how to do the basic code to get the motor to work by using a single push button switch to open and close it. Then I will try advance to linking then together so that it will work with the pi. Surely if the nano c...

Re: project 001 servo multiway controller

Is that any good tho for a motor? I'm not using a stepper motor just a plain straight forward motor. Will the one I've got do the job? Can't just keep buying loads of bits to make a motor simply go forward and backwards. Was originally told the pi would do it in its own and then a nano v3, then the ...

Re: project 001 servo multiway controller

So the nano v3 can't be programmed to turn the motor on and off as required? The small motor is already housed in the unit, I thought the nano could be programmed to switch it on and off. It's just a pain simple 9-12v dc motor with a plain 2pin power connector. I've just ordered a h bridge driver bo...

Re: project 001 servo multiway controller

All I did to open it was place 9v directly on the motor and reversed the current to close it To make sure it still worked as it should. It does have a circuit with limit switches that the motor plus into but they don't seem to work. So I'm hoping to use the nano v3 to move the motor in one direction...
