Re: Setting up my Pi4 with Transmission

I have
"bind-address-ipv4": "0.0.0.0",
"bind-address-ipv6": "::",

in the config, that will allow you to connect to the transmission webpage.

Let me know if it works..

Re: There are already compiled packages for Vpn Wireguard on Raspbian Buster?

I want this also, currently with each Raspian update, i need to pull and recompile wireguard in order to get this working again.
It would be helpful if the wireguard package is in the repository.

Re: New ARM board: cubieboard

So far I know that A10 will be drawing approx the same amount of power as the RPi. But with sata on board you could probably power a laptop drive. So this will be very good for making a small NAS or XBMC server Seems the same size as an RPi, perhaps a little longer, but it has mounting holes .... :)...

Re: Competitors

The Olimex is very nice (512 MB, A13 processor,gpio), but - the size is 2,5 x times a RPi (120x120mm) - doesn't have a ethernet interface by default Yes I know, it has an option for wireless...... still that is an option... And yes, you can use the UEXT to get a ethernet adapterboard connected, but ...

It does NOT measure s 85.60mm x 53.98mm The pcb measures 85.00 x 56.17 mm for the exact locations, you can download my thingiverse design, in the top of the file every connector location is defined measured for the left corner of the RJ45 connector. Also Gert measurements thread is somewhere pinned

Re: who has a 3d printer?

Yes you have Shapeways, but for a mediabox which houses a 2.5" HD it will be very very expensive. Just draw a box the size it requires, using 1.5 mm walls and remove the bottom and it wouldn't surprise it it would cost more than 50 euro. You could also check on some 3D printer forums if someone woul...

Re: Safe SSH access to Pi over internet

You should do:

PasswordAuthentication no
KbdInteractive no

both should be disabled in the sshd_config
This way you will never get a prompt if the sshkey fails

To further protect your system, use port knocking.
for instance use knockd see: http://www.zeroflux.org/projects/knock

If you want to do cgi scripting with nginx, they also state : Nginx doesn't serve CGI scripts. While there's all sorts of hacks to work around this, none of them are really satisfactory or general-purpose. Thttpd is a *very* simple (and very small footprint) HTTP server that includes CGI support. It...

Re: Django and nginx

use sqlite, standard available in python

Save that data directly with python/sqlite (not using a post)
use nginx or better thttpd as frontend for presenting the data

that way it will only use a few MB.
try to keep it as simple as possible.....

no ethernet, no gpio
Just a mainboard of a tablet, nothing special, seems to have a lot of components...
The Olimex A13 or later with the A10 will be a much better candidate.

Re: Fantasy RPi 2 spec (what's yours?)

OK, just some simple things: - solve power limit on usb - no microUSB phone charger power - make leds less bright and maybe programmable - make the pcb a little larger and align the connectors, try to keep 1 side free - microSD, current one take too much space - mounting holes - split the io connect...

thttpd small webserver, perfect for a Pi.

I currently have compiled the sourcecode because it wasn't in the repository.
Had to make a minor adjustment in an include file in order to get it compiled correctly....
