No space left inside chroot of mounted Raspbian image

Hi I am trying to setup a cross-compiling environment for the Pi3 on a Debian 9.5 build host. After mounting the filesystem partition of the original Rasbian image and chroot-ing to it, I tried to install some packages, but after a while, I got E: You don't have enough free space in /var/cache/apt/a...

Had the same problem just minutes ago, but is working again now. Must have been a server problem.

Re: init.d boot script no longer loaded at boot?

FYI. I replaced the init.d script by a systemd unit file, and it works correctly. I'll stick with using systemd from now on. The explanation why my init.d script accessing GPIO via python does not work may be as explained here: http://www.raspberrypi-spy.co.uk/2015/10/how-to-autorun-a-python-script-...

init.d boot script no longer loaded at boot?

Hi, I have a simple init.d bootscript that runs a python script checking if the shutdown button on my Pi (via GPIO) was pressed, and if so, sends a signal on another GPIO to cut the power to my Pi, once it is safe to do so. It used to work with my previous Raspbian installation, but after I updated ...

Plymouth splash shows only briefly

Hi. I have made a simple plymouth theme that shows an image of my choosing. The splash appears but quickly disappears to show only a black screen until the login prompt appears. When I change to e.g. the installed solar theme, all goes well and the theme stays even after the login screen. However, w...

Re: init.d script does not start after boot completes

I turns out I forgot to add the shebang line to the top of my script file: #!/bin/bash # /etc/init.d/testscript ### BEGIN INIT INFO # Provides: testscript # Required-Start: $all # Required-Stop: # Default-Start: 2 3 4 5 # Default-Stop: 0 1 6 # Short-Description: Simple script to start a program at b...

init.d script does not start after boot completes

Hi, I am learning to use boot scripts. I created one using the following LSB header: ### BEGIN INIT INFO # Provides: testscript # Required-Start: $all # Required-Stop: # Default-Start: 2 3 4 5 # Default-Stop: 0 1 6 # Short-Description: Simple script to start a program at boot # Description: A simple...

Re: Si4703 I2C initialization

Hi, Tim, the developer behind https://github.com/packetgeek kindly replied to a message I sent him and acknowledged the whole SDA init part is superfluous and that the pin number used may be incorrect anyway. The reason why the SDA pull down during initialization is unnecessary is that our boards ar...

Si4703 I2C initialization

Hi.. I have the following FM Radio tuner board: https://www.sparkfun.com/products/12938 The si4703 chip must be configured to use the I2C bus ("2-wire") mode by pulling the SDA pin low before the reset pin is activated. I have a Pi2 with the wiring as follows: Pi2 Si4703 ---------------------- -----...

Re: Trying Bare Metal on Raspberry Pi 2

Hi, Could you please detail how you compiled and generated the kernel.img file you put on the SD Card? I tried a similar program in C, but the generated image does not work when put on SD Card. However, the same image (after converting it to the uImage format) works when loaded via TFTP in u-boot......
