Re: DS18B20 One Wire sensors slow to show up/go away from directory?

If you are dropping devices you might have a wiring or connection problem or even a bad sensor. Try shorter cables to start with and check all your connections.

Re: Lightweight Antivirus for Pi? To catch Windows viruses.

I think you answered your own question. Here’s your solutions from cheapest to most expensive:
1.Install free Microsoft AV on your windows box
2.Upgrade to a Pi3 with SSD.
3.Buy a hardware firewall with AV built in.

My suggestion is to start reading the google documentation...this is the wrong forum for your questions. Google is your friend.

Re: Streaming video with MQTT

It won’t work. Start by reading up on the protocol http://mqtt.org and look at the limitations.

You can use MQTTT to send a link to the stored video file on some server and stream it through a web browser..

Re: house heating system

As you are dealing with boilers you could quickly end up in a dangerous situation if you Pi crashes or freezes up. You will need to be extra careful to ensure you have separate fail-safe hardware that will prevent runaway situations with your boiler (eg. catastrophic boiler explosion). If you are pl...

What are you using to back up SSD on Pi 3?

I'm looking for alternatives to create a complete backup image (all partitions) of a Pi 3 running from a USB SSD drive. I can use something like Apple-Pi Baker to clone an SD image but it doesn't recognize/work with my USB SSD drive controller. What I would like is a simple GUI based disk cloner hop...

Re: PiCam detection

It's doable but you would be far better off (ie. cheaper and more robust solution) getting a dedicated industrial belt motion sensor and tie that into your PLC controlling the belt drive.

Re: Raspberry Pi Data Acquisition - 50KHz or Higher

Just a warning - the beaglebone support community is small and everything is more "bleeding edge" so don't expect much in terms of software support like you see for the Pi. Hardware wise it's got great features on paper but implementation can be a hard slog as there is little to no support. Complete...
