Re: connecting my ECU to my RPI2

Re: connecting my ECU to my RPI2

Calm down. wait.. i wasnt calm? You started your post by saying you'd made a mistake posted in the wrong forum. correct. i see you have read through it. Rpdom then, quite fairly, just explained what the best process is for getting a post moved rather than double-posting (so you don't make another "...

Re: connecting my ECU to my RPI2

Hello, difficult setup. The programs are all quite complex and it will be difficult to see what is going on. As you already left noob state (asking questions is almost expert level), I would propose to use pyserial directly to at least find out whether some parts of the code work. # originally, no ...

Re: connecting my ECU to my RPI2

thanks for your marginally useful reply about forum etiquette, however i did repost it for a reason. mainly that i wrote it, edited it(rewrote it) and even then i received no responses. so i rewrote it again. and instead of trying to flog a dead horse i decided a new title to suit the new post in a ...

Re: automating a command and script to run on boot.

Make your startup script

this is mine (just to start x and vnc for me atm)

Code: Select all

sudo startx &
sh vnc.sh &
Then run

Code: Select all

sudo crontab -e
Add single line to file:

Code: Select all

@reboot sudo sh bootscript.sh
Done.

Re: Touchscreen device works on some Pi's but not others

I should also mention, I have tried other screens, and other SD cards imaged from the original, with identical results. So it's definitely the Pi itself. this is why i ask if your SD card image contains any conditional filters in the config.txt to verify this isnt the cause of your problem just dow...

Re: Raspberry pi VNC setup

Question: are you trying to vnc like u would a windows machine? If so I suggest installing x11vnc. Instead of tightvnc. x11vnc creates a vnc session of your already running x session E.g. process of connection for me is to ssh in $ Startx & $ x11vnc -rfbauth ~/.vnc/passwd Then i open a vnc viewer an...

Re: Touchscreen device works on some Pi's but not others

im only a noobie but i gotta ask. are you using a cloned SD image or a fresh install and setup on each pi ? does the SD card from a working pi setup produce the same result in a non working setup ? if you are using an SD cloned image, does this image contain any conditional filters ? such as listed ...
