Thanks for the info. I din't think about looking at a dhcp client. I tried removing isc-dhcp-client and isc-dhcp-common with no success. I then removed dhcpcd5 which required the removal of raspberrypi-net-mods which I was not too keen on until I saw other posts recommending it. After removing dhcpd...
