And sometimes I...

Re: installing Infrared
But can FLIRC emulate more than one remote at once I have looked at the link given to me by fruitoftheloom & for between £2.60 & £4.80 these seem an ideal & inexpensive way to achieve what I want......but just wondered if anyone who had used these & then got the FLIRC if they thought...

Re: installing Infrared
Thanks fruitoftheloom
these look ideal & only around £3 to £6
But is FLIRC the ultimate solution, I can get one for £16. Using FLIRC can more than one remote at once be programmed & can it work on any USB port (tv as well as PC), can FLIRC program literally any remote including a sky remote

Re: installing Infrared & using FLIRC
OK, the above solution from the poster 'joan' is certainly worth considering & worth a try due to the very low cost. But if 'price' was not a consideration but rather 'great result' and 'neatness' ( no cumbersome wires hanging outside the case) what would you go for?? I've just been reading abou...

how is this fitted to the RPI.....will the wires hang outside of the case or will it all fit neatly inside?
Will the IR work with other remotes, other than the one it comes with
thanks

Re: OSMC versus OpenElec
I actually like openelec but find not having web browser a pain, when I downloaded the openelec RPI config add-on I thought that would be good but don't seem to be able to do much with it, I have installed putty on my laptop but not got to grips totally with ssh, so if anyone can give good links for...

Re: OSMC versus OpenElec
the google search didn't really give me what I was looking for, no real direct comparisons between the two, so anyones experience/opinion of both would be good Also want to know if I could save all my addons & configurations from OpenElec to bring into a newly installed OSMC Finally is the RC3 s...

OSMC versus OpenElec
I have only had my RPI 2B for a couple of weeks. I am running OpenElec 5.0.8 (installed via image file, not NOOBS) on a 16gb Sandisc I am happy with the performance of OpenElec (apart from the fact I can't get my HDD to work with it, so gonna order a powered hub to run it) but the issue I don't like...

Re: external HDD not recognised
I have just added it to the file but unfortunately it hasn't worked as I am still unable to see my HDD (though it powers up the light on the HDD, as it did before)
Presume I would see it under file manager, add source, browse path, root file system, media
