Re: I have blown up my PI!

Don't know what luck I had, but, I powered the Pi up using a 3v3 supply connected directly to the 3v3 rail and GND, and 5v thru regular Micro-USB.. The ACT LED came on for a couple seconds, and again went off.

Re: I have blown up my PI!

Reverse polarity on GPIO connector = Fried Pi. This method of providing power bypasses the polyfuse protection, so it's up to you to get it right. I see very little hope of your Pi ever working again. Time to get a new Pi. Can't anything be done? No. Chances are it's dead. If it was the 5V rail, th...

Re: I have blown up my PI!

The interesting thing is, the power LED still is on and I don't see any magic smoke or heating anywhere even after I've left it plugged in for the last six hours...

I have blown up my PI!

Hello there! I was tinkering around with my Pi3 yesterday, and i managed to reverse-polarity the GPIO power rail. My power supply had a short protection, but now my RPi does't seem to boot at all.. No magic smoke observed, no heating anywhere, I've checked with 2 SD Cards, but still the PWR LED is o...

Re: Trouble with video over 3.5mm jack with B+

Hi there! Well.. My project with the Pi 2 was a netbook-style compy... Well even I had problems with the screen being fuzzy over composite. The solution was to build a adapter with a ceramic capacitor at the video signal output, which solved the fuzziness. In case( just like me) you're using a boost...

Hey all,
I'm making a raspberry pi laptop and CAN'T seem to power the screen thru a boost converter board whose input is wired to gpio on my pi 2. any ideas on how to power the screen without the Pi repeatedly rebooting?

Battery pack is a 1.9a output 7800 mah power bank. Display draws 450-680 ma.

Can someone post a detailed guide to doing this completely DIY? The parts you all are suggesting are not available here.. By parts I mean the readymade module.

This idea could use a USB to RS 232 Serial converter. Watch Ben Heck's video for further info.

As far as I know, you'll have to hold down Shift key while typing 1,2,3 or 4. Got it working fine on my Pi 2!
