Re: VNC Connection Problems.

Thanks, I'll check some others. TeamViewer must be different. It works on the RPi 4s, but older Pis slow down so much that nothing can get done. What about Windows Remote Desktop?

Re: VNC Connection Problems.

I've been using RealVNC since it is included with Raspbian. I have Teamviewer on my PCs and I just added it to one of my RPis and it works. Since it's an option that works., I don't think I'll spend any more time on the RealVNC problem. The problem with teamviewer is they put a small session window ...

Re: VNC Connection Problems.

Both a hardwired. My primary computer is connected directly to the router. The other computer is connected via a switch. The one that doesn't have a problem is connected with a switch that is connected to the router. The problem PC has the direct to the router connection. Any VNC recommendations?

It failed again and I installed the telnet. When I ran it in Powershell , I got a screen with RFB 005.000 on the top.

Re: VNC Connection Problems.

dorian-ny, I just did a Windows reinstall - keeping files. I wait to see if that fixed the problem before I pursue any other recourse. T scan that said I had corrupted files was a clue that I need a reinstall. I hope I don't have to wipe the disk and reinstall all my apps. I do have my data on separ...

dorian-ny, I got an error message "The term 'telnet' is not recognized as the name of a cmdlet, function, script file, or operable program." The sfc /scannow: Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them. The log is beyond my understanding. I'll do a windows rep...

I've also uninstalled and reinstalled the latest VNC Viewer. Remember, everything still works on my old PC and it was working on this computer until a week or so ago.

dorian-ny, are those entered into VNC where you would normally enter an IP address? If so, I did and they didn't do anything.

Re: VNC Connection Problems.

Are there WIndows apps that would cause a problem with VNC Viewer? This is something that just started about a week ago. I'm not aware of any changes I've made to the PC.

VNC Connection Problems.

I have four RPis. Two are 4s, one is a 3B+ and one is a 3. The RPi3 runs Stretch and the others run Buster. All have VNC enabled. I also have a couple of Windows 10 PCs. On my primary PC, I can connect to any RPi with VNC Viewer after a fresh boot of the PC. Later if I open the VNC Viewer and click ...

Re: PiKrellCam: motion vector detect + OSD web interface

billw, I now have it resolved. BTW, thanks for responding. The problem occurred when I tried to make the drive a convenient name rather than use the very long UUID. I had reformated the drive from NTFS to ext4 and named the partition the same as the drive name. When I did that, it changed one of the...

Re: PiKrellCam: motion vector detect + OSD web interface

I added a USB drive to the RPi and changed the pikrellcam.conf file from media to /media/pi/usbdrive/media. Motion detected videos and thumbs are being stored on the usbdrive, but when I click on Videos on the pikrellcam site, it says there are no files. It's not a deal-breaker because I can still m...

Re: VNC quit working

I tried it once more and it worked until I connected to the internet with a VPN. It worked with the VPN running for a long time and now it doesn't. If I turn the VPN off, it won't work until I power everything off and restart without a VPN connection.

VNC quit working

I have four RPis with VNC enabled and the VNC Viewer is on Win 10 computer. I have been using the VNC Viewer with the four PRis for several months. Re: MotionEye vs Wyze camera?

tropho, I like your 3D printed case for the motorized camera. Since I don't have a 3D printer, I have a project box on order similar to the one you used before you had a 3D printer (but larger for the IR illuminators and a RPi 3B+). Did you drill a hole in the clear plastic for the lens? If so, do y...

Re: PiKrellCam: motion vector detect + OSD web interface

I just installed PiKrellcam on an RPi 3B+. I didn't want to use a 4B+ because at times the outside weather will be VERY hot and the RPi will be in a weatherproof enclosure. I still haven't figured out how to set up the motion vector detect. It may be covered in this thread, but it's a long thread. I...

Re: Acess My Raspberry Pi NAS from a Linux Computer

I can access the NAS via my Linux laptop without any problems. I hadn't tried that earlier. It's just not as convenient to use as a VM on my desktop. I was trying to do it via VMware and another Raspberry Pi. Since I can do what I want on the laptop, I'm not going to pursue solving the problem on th...
