Re: New RT (Real Time) kernel branch

@gene1934
As you got it working on the PI4, would you have the time to write up how to do it?
Thanks,
Bob

Re: STICKY: Optional interfaces (I2C, I2S, SPI) and Device Tree

We never got SPI1 and SPI2 to support DMA in the CM3, only SPI0. We believe that SPI0 is built into the Broadcom logic, and that SPI1 & 2 came along with the ARM core. Maybe we're wrong about that.

In the PI 4, do SPI3-SPI6 support DMA?

Thanks,
Bob

Re: STICKY: Optional interfaces (I2C, I2S, SPI) and Device Tree

How do we enable the additional SPI ports 3-6 in the Raspberry PI 4?

Re: Full schematic for the Pi3 and Zero

Hello, The official answer about the LAN7515 chip from Microchip came this morning: "Hello, I have received a message from the Business Unit: “This part was a specialized part for Raspberry Pi, so the information is not publicly available. For more information, they would need to go through the Sale...

Re: Full schematic for the Pi3 and Zero

I posted a request for LAN7515 documentation yesterday on the Microchip web site, with no response so far.
Maybe it's just a new part.
The ECIA shows no authorized distributors for the LAN7515. 10 distributors for the LAN7500.

Re: Full schematic for the Pi3 and Zero

Hi, We're designing a board that uses a couple CM3 modules. And we are right at the stage of putting in the USB to Ethernet bridge. It happens to be PI day, and you upgraded the Ethernet to a LAN7515. You published the schematic for the IO board, and I appreciate it. I was hoping to look up the appr...

DougieLawson & SunDontShine, Am I wrong, or stating the obvious? I think the error message "gpio: Unable to load/unload modules as this Pi has the device tree enabled. You need to run the raspi-config program (as root) and select the modules (SPI or I2C) that you wish to load/unload there and reboot...

Re: Oracle license fees for Java on Raspberry Pi are cheap

Hello, I apologize for extending a 2 year old thread, but it's missing the corner case that applies to my project. With any luck Henrik, or some other Oracle expert is still monitoring the thread. We design, manufacture and sell embedded industrial controllers, soon to be based on the Pi, and probab...

Re: Why is Jessie asking for a password?

Hi I ran into this this morning. I was hoping that the Jessie lite image would have the gui desktop, but not all the office/games/sound/educational toys. Instead it had a stripped cli for the headless folks. When I tried to enable boot to gui in raspi-config it suggested that it apt-get install ligh...

Hello Reidmere, I'm not familiar with the device you are interfacing to your PI. You mentioned that it uses a 16Mhz clock. I don't think the Broadcom 2835/36 supports any I2C clock speeds other than 100KHz and 400KHz. See the peripherals manual http://www.farnell.com/datasheets/1521578.pdf. 16Mhz se...

attach i2c addr & gpio input pin to ar1021_i2c driver

Hi, I'm testing a carrier board that I designed for the Raspberry Pi 2. (okay, okay, I just pasted in some example circuits so the assembly will do what I need it to.) Along with some other stuff, I have a rtc circuit and a touchscreen circuit connected to the i2c bus. The i2c bus is working because...

Re: Raspberry Pi Compute Module Reformat

Hello, I just received my compute module this week I've spent a full day trying to get the latest Raspbian image to boot up. I got 2015-02-16-raspbian-wheezy.zip from https://www.raspberrypi.org/downloads/, followed directions and copied it over from my rpi2. No luck. I found this link https://www.r...
