Raspberry Pi 3 conncet to cell phone
I connected to a Samsung J1 Cell phone over usb with raspberry pi 3. It originally connects at /media/pi/DISK_IMG and shows sub folders and file names in that folder. However, after a very short while, it suddenly automatically changes connection. The cell phone face then says "media device” an...

sources.list file location
I was trying to edit the "sources.list" file. Where is "sources.list" located? I did a search and found a file named "sources.list" in usr/sources/doc/apt/examples/ Since this one is in the "examples" folder, I assume it's there for demonstration as an example...

Problem updating
I have a Raspberry Pi 2 with Rasbian Wheezy which I haven't used for a while. I started it OK and tried to update and upgrade with unsuccessful results. sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get upgrade (same commands I've used successfully many times in the past) The update responded with errors such as &qu...

MicroSD card not enough capacity
I created an image on a PNY 32 GB microSD card and later tried to flash it to another PNY 32 GB microSD card. However, I got an error message of not enough capacity. This was very surprising since both were the PNY and labeled as 32 GB. I then put them in a card reader and connected via USB to check...

I got a Raspberry pi 3 and installed jessie. I've been told ice weasel is no longer available. Could someone let me know how I install firefox on jessie?

KODI Krypton screen size on RP 3
Running Raspberry pi 3 with KODI Krypton (latest version) Screen size is too big for TV screen. It clips edges of image, vertical and horizontal. Saw a Utube video which navigated from "appearance" icon to skin to zoom, which looked simple. However, it was for a different version of KODI. ...

Re: New Raspberry 3 won't boot
I take it that it's necessary to start over with a replacement os on a new SDCard. I assume this means I will lose the applications on the old raspberry wheezy SDCard (i.e. the one used with Ras2), such as samba, iceweasel, music player, etc. along with all the files saved on the old SDCard. Is this...

NOOBS choices
I downloaded NOOBS in Fab 2015 and put it on a microSD card for a Raspberry Pi2. When I booted the rasp2, it gave me approximately 12 choices of what to install, including raspbian wheezy, date partition, Raspbian boot to scratch, etc.\ I again downloaded NBOOS Feb 23, 2017 and put it on a different...

Re: New Raspberry 3 won't boot
I understand about the static voltage. However, the power supply is rated at 2.5 amp. I watched the current on the in-line power meter and it didn't show a transient spike.. Is there anything else that would show the small rainbow square? Update: I tried another MicroSD card and copied the files fro...

New Raspberry 3 won't boot
I purchased a new Raspberry pi 3. It won't boot. The initial four color screen comes up same as raspberry pi2. Then, a small square with four colors shows up in upper right corner. Nothing more happens. I am using a microsd card that works fine with my raspberry pi2 and all other connections are sam...

Mount for camera board
I purchased the camera board that comes with the raspberry pi 2 kit. The holes at the corners of the camera circuit board are too close to the circuit trace to be able to use nuts and washes to attach it to a support fixture. Does anyone have a suggestion of how to mount the camera? any support brac...

Connecting Raspberry Pi to HDMI on a laptop
I notice some laptops have an HDMI port. Can a laptop serve as a monitor and audio for a raspberry pi through the HDMI connector? possibly using software on the laptop for it to simulate a TV video and audio (don't know it that is possible)

Libre Office Dictionary
I installed LIbre Office on my Raspberry Pi 2. The spell check in Writer does not work. I activate it and it responds with a spell check complete message but misses misspelled words. I suspect it may be checking to a non-existent dictionary. Does anyone have info on how to install a dictionary for L...

Re: Web page slant image.
Raspbian latest version (is there a tab to tell you version number?)
latest versions of Crome Ver 22.0.1229.64
Also happens intermittently on Epiphany, latest version, 3.8.2
When it happens, the page opens in normal orientation then suddenly shifts to slant image.

Web page slant image.
I have had problems with web page images suddenly slanting to become unreadable. The latest is using Google Crome on Raspberry Pi 2.
