Re: .deb files failed to install

Midieditor is a very generic name. Where did you download the deb file? What distribution is it for? Ubuntu and Mint have deb files, but you wouldn't want to mix and match with Debian. What CPU architecture is it for? Debian supports quite a few, but you can't run an x86 program on armv7.

Re: OpenGL on RPi 3

You don't want to use Ubuntu packages on Raspbian. If you want to use a newer version of mesa than the one Raspbian provides, you're better off building it from source. https://github.com/anholt/mesa/wiki/Building-Mesa-for-VC4 Oh, you'll also need to edit /etc/apt/sources.list and add deb-src reposi...

Re: Raspberry Pi 4 possible h.265 decoder?

Raspberry Pi 3 can decode h.265 480p video in software. I did some test encodes on my PC using DVD and Blu-Ray and the results confirm h.265 is basically worthless for lower resolutions. Unless you're wanting to watch 4k video, I wouldn't bother with it.

Re: Raspberry PI SSH with Windows 10 and ubuntu

Sshd should be on by default in Raspbian. Is your Raspberry Pi wired or wireless? If wireless, you'll need to do some post installation setup on the Raspberry Pi before you can log in through ssh.

Demand a refund. If they actually included all of those games with the product, threaten to report them to the FBI for piracy (very hypocritical I know) if they refuse to refund your money. Buy a Raspberry Pi 3 and install RetroPie. X-Arcade has a nice 2 player controller with trackball for $150. Go...

Re: Windows 7 style open Snap on Raspbian LXDE

This has been around in Linux desktop environments long before Windows 7. LXDE is nice because it is so lightweight, but XFCE is slightly fuller featured. If you don't want all of the added cruft, you can start with Raspbian Jessie Lite and apt-get install xfce4. You will need to enable the snap to ...

1942 is a vertical shooter. If you want it to take up more of the screen turn your screen sideways and have MAME flip the game 90 degrees. Stretching it horizontally would look terrible.

You can use X11 forwarding through ssh on a remote machine. I don't think you can forward X11 on Windows though.

Re: How do I get the current gstreamer?

apt-get build-dep This grabs the build dependencies for a given program. nano /etc/apt/sources.list Make sure deb-src is on there somewhere. If it is not, simply copy and paste the raspbian repository and add deb-src in front of it. apt-get update Make sure you do this so apt can now find the sourc...

Re: How to Get LAMP working on Raspberry Pi?

You can check /etc/httpd/ or /etc/apache/ config file. The default to be displayed is called index.html. You can change this to whatever name you want in the config file. If you delete index.html, Apache will simply show an index of the files in Apache root folder.

It should be at /dev/cdrom or /dev/sr0.

I read somewhere that Android was being worked on for the Raspberry Pi 3. You will need an Android device as others have pointed out, Hulu, Netflix, etc use digital rights management. The Odroid C2 is a similarly priced device that should do what you're looking for.

I can't find this issue doing a forum search so I figured I would put it out there. I'm experiencing problems with the mouse cursor pausing while dragging it around on screen. This only happens with the OpenGL driver enabled. I'm using a 5V 2.4A adapter with my Raspberry Pi 2 so I don't think it's a...

It works much better than it did six months ago. There are still some glitches with things not being displayed properly and my mouse cursor suddenly stops every now an then for a breif second. I'm using whatever verson is included with Raspbian though. I'm not sure how up to date that is.

After having time to further test this, I've concluded it to be an OpenGLVC4 driver issue. Disabling it fixes the hiccuping mouse cursor.

I noticed it was throttling back as well so I installed cpufrequtils and set the governor to performance. It seemed to speed things up a bit.

I have issues with no HDMI audio when using rpi-update to 4.4.8 as well. Forcing it through raspi-config doesn't work either. I understand you must have dtparam=audio=on enabled because of device tree. I have reverted back to 4.1.19 for the time being.
