Re: Raspberry Pi Drives ITEAD PN532 NFC Module with libnfc

I did 2 things to make it work... 1) Freeing UART on the Pi: Type: sudo raspi-config Select “Advanced Options” Select “Serial” Select “No” Select “Finish” Select “Yes” (to reboot) 2) Setup libnfc for the Pi: cd libnfc-libnfc-1.7.1 sudo mkdir /etc/nfc sudo mkdir /etc/nfc/devices.d sudo cp contrib/lib...

Re: wget certificate errors

I'm having the same problem but with a different site:

Code: Select all

wget https://bintray.com/artifact/download/nfc-tools/sources/libnfc-1.7.1.tar.bz2
I'm using 2015-05-05-raspbian-wheezy.img

How do we fix this issue?

Re: Disabling and enabling LAN9512

I've been trying to test below script to see how reliable I can turn ON/OFF the USB HUB. while true do /etc/init.d/networking stop echo 0 > /sys/devices/platform/bcm2708_usb/buspower; echo "Bus power stopping" sleep 10; echo 1 > /sys/devices/platform/bcm2708_usb/buspower; echo "Bus power starting" s...

Re: Powering USB on and off

Are your ON/OFF scripts working like a charm? I have a similar need where I need to turn OFF the USB HUB while the unit is in idle state and when it is in operational mode I need to turn it ON; this is for the purpose to save as much power as possible since I'm running from a battery pack. I have tr...

Re: Raspberry Pi B+ turn usb power off

It is my understanding that on the B+ if you turn off the USB HUB you will turn Ethernet as well. You can not disable one or the other. You can use the following commands to achieve this: echo 0 > /sys/devices/platform/bcm2708_usb/buspower; echo 1 > /sys/devices/platform/bcm2708_usb/buspower; I have...

Re: Raspberry Pi A+: Deactivate USB

How much power consumption (in mA) were you able to improve using the

Code: Select all

ifdown wlan0
? I'm trying something similar on a B+ without success. I tried to shut down completely the USB HUB and re-enabling it when needed but is not as reliable as I expected...

Re: Disable Network

On this link explains how to do it: http://raspberrypi.stackexchange.com/questions/8498/disable-lan9512 BTW, I'm trying to do something similar, so for testing purposes I'm running the following script: while true do /etc/init.d/networking stop echo 0 > /sys/devices/platform/bcm2708_usb/buspower; ec...

Re: Shutting down the USB HUB hangs my R-Pi

You are correct. My mistake, it is 200mA. I have verified this power consumption reduction with a Digital USB Amperemeter Tester (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00LBXWBWU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1). As you can see, on my original post, the script does the following: 1) Stops the...

Shutting down the USB HUB hangs my R-Pi

Hi, I'm trying to save as much power as I can on my R-Pi. I have read that if I shut down the USB HUB, I could reduce the power consumption around 200mAh. So, my idea is to shut down the USB HUB while the unit is in idle state; and whenever I need to use it I'm re-enabling it. So, for testing purpos...
