Re: HOWTO: Install Kodi on Raspbian

Thanks gkreidl, You are correct after some power off time CEC worked again. Default Kodi behaviour is what I actually wanted (Kodi running over HDMI display to TV) but was just curious how others were running it. Since I dont use the TV to "look into" the raspberry pi (only SSH/vnc) I was wondering ...

Re: HOWTO: Install Kodi on Raspbian

Also, I have now lost control of Kodi (CEC remote controller doesn't work even though no settings were changed, and CEC still enabled on Samsung TV) Its a new raspbian/kodi install so I hadn't enabled the web control interface on Kodi (cannot use phone app). So i seem to be locked out of controlling...

Re: HOWTO: Install Kodi on Raspbian

Hey, just trying to understand how people run kodi on raspbian, and why the exit issue (kodi 14.x) was such a big deal. I am probably not making the most of my raspberry pi capabilities. :) Current setup kodi 14.2 on raspbian (wheezy). Headless setup, rPi connected to my TV over HDMI. rPI also hooke...

Re: Deluge download speed drops down

Apparently that was it for me :!: I thought its probably better to write to ext HD on USB than to a SD card? Also *assuming* torrents are random read/write operations (make sense to me) then SD card speed will be misleading...(often read that class 6 perform better on rpi than class 10 which are mor...

Re: HOWTO: Install Kodi on Raspbian

Update - the "sudo service kodi start/stop" commands now work for me after kodi 14.1 to 14.2 update Only change I made was in file /etc/default/kodi: # The user to run Kodi as USER=kodi changed to user 'pi'. It could be I had an instance running already as pi (on start-up) and then trying to stop it...

Re: Deluge download speed drops down

hi all Been working on it tonight. Problem solved!! I'll kick myself. I added in external HD as download location and speeds are now consistently around 1.2-1.4 MB/s!! I guess the sd card couldnt handle the random writes as bits were being downloaded? Also - updating libtorrent did help to im...

Re: HOWTO: Install Kodi on Raspbian

apt-get update/upgrade should work. Thanks!! This worked! I'm on 14.2 now. Only difference between the update and 14.2 clean install is I cannot start/stop kodi with the simple command "sudo service kodi start/stop". Any idea why this is? I'd really prefer this method as it seems a cleaner shutdown...

Re: Deluge download speed drops down

Could you be swamping your broadband connection and it cannot cope, leaving it with no room for other network overheads? Nah not a bandwidth issue. If I pause the rpi client (ethernet) and start same torrent on macbook (wifi) its consistently at 1.2MB/s. I sync at 12mbps (1.5MB/s) and nothing inten...

Re: Deluge download speed drops down

However the up/down cycle still occurs every few seconds unfortunately - Although now it goes d...

Re: Deluge download speed drops down

Hi guys, EXACT same problem as described by OP. Any resolution? Running Deluge on raspbian, as per the instructions here (minus the proxy configuration for now) http://www.howtogeek.com/142044/how-to-turn-a-raspberry-pi-into-an-always-on-bittorrent-box/ Did a clean reboot of rPI 2 and stopped other ...

Re: HOWTO: Install Kodi on Raspbian

hey, thanks for an awesome guide! I had followed the previous instructions (around late Feb) and got Kodi 14.1 installed on raspbian (using Michael Gorven library etc) I can see now its been updated and become a much easier process and the package is Kodi 14.2. I tried out the install on a second SD...
