Re: ModMyPi Mk.2 USB Hub, 2.5'' HDD, Patch Bay, On/Off - Ide

Quick Update Apologies for the delay in getting another update out. We've been waiting for final revision of cables and the hub to come in from the East. Had a couple of minor setbacks, but I didn't really want to update before we had an actual working prototype! If you want more minor updates, you...

This project is still very much alive, we've simply been waiting on final revision components from all over the place. Playing with prototypes is always a good game too :roll:

Big update next week hopefully!

We've managed to save a great number of SD cards by simply using a digital camera to format them.

They seem to ignore difference partitions and boot types, and just totally wipe the things back to standard.

@Jb2cool I see where you're coming from R.E. mounting bracket but if we make it bigger. . . . more plastic = more cost per item bigger tool = more cost for tooling Also, at its current size, we can incorporate the window & bracket in the same tool, any bigger and we have to have another tool (and th...

Update! First prototyping is finished, there's some pic's below 8-) All looking pretty good, main issue is getting the cable runs neat - something we couldn't do without putting it all together - hence the need for prototyping. VESA/HDD drive mount has been re-designed around a modular mounting brac...

@Cheetah

Yup we'll make sure there's an international plug version available, or at least make sure that the charger's 110V - 240V and compatible with a UK to US/AUS/EU Adaptor.

Thanks for the input!

ModMyPi Mk.2 USB Hub, 2.5'' HDD, Patch Bay, On/Off - Ideas

Hi All, I wanted to throw around some ideas and get a discussion going about our next Raspberry Pi venture. As discussed via email, this could be linked to a power issue due to a faulty hub.

Most people order the GPIO extenders alongside a case, hence the price. We'll look into dropping it now we're integrating product based shipping rather than flat rate. Give it a week or so and I'll have someone take a look.

It is a tolerance gap left for slight variations in PCB sizes. Some of the boards we measured varied as much as 2mm from one end to the other. We thought it better to leave a .5mm edge clearance rather than risking people's boards not fitting in. Feedback's been really positive so far, so thanks to ...

Sounds like you've got the dongle registered as a USB device, so that's the hard part over. Could be a problem with Gnome and Wheezy? You could try installing KDE as an alternative and see how that goes. http://wiki.debian.org/WiFi/HowToUse#KDE Alternatively use Debian until a stable Wheezy OS is re...
