Re: 3.2 waveshare and mplayer

Hi,
Thanks for the reply. I had already tried several attemps but all I got was a static screen (not moving video) and all jumbled up.
Here is what I did:
1 - fbcp&
2 - mplayer -vo fbdev:/dev/fb1 -fps 25 tv:// -tv driver=v4l2:device=/dev/video0:width=510:height=505

3.2 waveshare and mplayer

Hi, I'm using a 3.2 waveshare display without a problem on a Pi2. Using python Im able to display on the 3.2 LCD what the camera sees hence the waveshare 3.2 LCD is installed properly. I also have an EasyCap capture USB device with an IR cam attached the output of which I can display o the HDMI scre...

Re: problem with GPIO's above GPIO7 on RPI2

No takers for this issue but I've found a solution. It appears that the internal pullup/pull down resistors either don't work or are inadequate on the RPI2. I simply placed a physical 10K resistor between ground rail and all the 3 GPIO's used and changed GPIO.setup(GPP3, GPIO.IN, pull_up_down = GPIO...

Re: Pi B+ 40 pin GPIO how to use buttons and how many can I

I've asked this question on a different thread without a response so far. I'm trying to use GPIO pins below pin 28 (because a 3.2 waveshare tft takes up all the rest) without success. The setup is very simple, a switch connected to ground on one end and to a pin on the other. The switches are normal...

Re: problem with GPIO's above GPIO7 on RPI2

Hi,GPP1, GPP2, GPP3 are just variables to which I assign the GPIO numbers (I could have called them x,y and z). As far as I have learned so far, since the pins are tied to ground directly and not to a 3.3V pin they are pulled up and hence should be detected by a a falling edge (the mometary switches...

problem with GPIO's above GPIO7 on RPI2

For the past few days I have been trying to get a simple python program to read a momentary switch without success. Its a pull up setup with the concerned pin connected to ground via the switch. The board is a PI2 running python 5.11. I need 3 switches and am limited to the pins below pin 28 because...

omxplayer and tvheadend

Im trying to stream from tvheadend on a PI 2 to omxplayer on the same PI2 or another PI B without success. I have an mpeg2 licence installed and VLC on win7 streams fine from tvheadend. Im on a Pi2 with raspbarian 3.18.14-v7. Due to the lack of any real sytnax for omxplayer I've tried: omxplayer -o ...

Re: DVB-S2 on the RPI ?

For those interested the only thing that solved all my firmware problems (at least where the Geniatech DVB-S2 is concerned) was to bring the source upto sync with the kernel. All the problems, and there were many, vanished and the device worked perfectly. This was done on a PI 2 (Yes I fried my PI B...

Re: DVB-S2 on the RPI ?

Hi,
After a lot of trials and attempts I found that the firmware was indeed installed correctly - the utility w-scan confirmed the proper installation and returned the relevant channels for astra and hothird so I'm well on my way (At least for the time being).
Thanks again for your help.

Re: DVB-S2 on the RPI ?

I've searched google to try and find out what the default name is (or even means) but to no satisfaction.
What is the default name and how do i change the current name (dvb-fe-ds3000.fw ) to it ?
Sorry but I am a total newbie

I installed that, or perhaps i just think i did but it failed ?
I know I went through the procedure of installing dvb-fe-ds3000.fw, could it be that there RPI has a different fw installation procedure ?

Hi, Im totally new to all this and was wondering what s/w you used to tune the sat channels - i mean the frequencies, polarities, symbol rates etc - does this functionality come with the s.w you listed and installed ? I have another supported device - Geniatech DVB-S2 HD star and although Ive receiv...

DVB-S2 on the RPI ?

Does anyone know of a DVB-S2 driver on the RPI ? I recently bought a Geniatech HD Star DVB-S2 for windows and was wondering if it can also run on the RPI.
Please note I'm an RPI newbie
