It is a powerbutton, but it is currently disabled.

In addition to using the shutdown command, you can also control the device power state using the 'WebB' interface.

Note that it has now changed so it defaults to port 8080, so to access it use:
http://<ip address>:8080

There is a new flashing tool in the latest build, but it basically wraps the DISM commands. Since those aren't working for you at the moment if you do have access to another system maybe try flashing the SD card there. Ideally on a system that's running Windows 10 natively and not in a VM box. Also ...

tweedie is correct that SQL Azure is a hosted service. If you are running Windows Server 2012, you'd likely want to look at running something like some edition of SQL Server 2014:

There is a simple ‘Universal App’ web browser sample, but unfortunately it doesn’t work on Windows 10 IoT Core yet. But it might eventually work, in which case then you could have some form of a web browser running there. It won’t be ‘Edge’ or IE11 though.

If that command doesn't work, just ignore it and continue on. The fact it didn't work shouldn't prevent you from being able to deploy an application to the Rpi2 device.

At this time I’m not aware of an RDP client that you can run on Windows 10 IoT Core. It’s possible this could change or be added in the future, but nothing I know about in a specific timeframe right now.

I believe you need a steady 2.0A power source for the Rpi2 to work properly with Windows 10 IoT Core. That'd be my guess as to why you might be having problems since the SD cards sound like the right size / class.

For the moment the only other option we can suggest is plugging the scanner in after boot. Beyond that, hold tight and I believe this should be resolved for you in a future updated OS update.

Correct - Additional updates and improvements in this area will continue to be added over time. For example with the last drop accessing the WebB interface now requires credentials to log-in. The best I can say for the moment is simply to stay tuned.

It should be noted that not all development features will fully work from within Visual Studio unless you’re running it on Windows 10 Technical Preview, but as Gerrit mentioned you don’t HAVE to use Win 10 TP to flash the SD card.
