Re: Opinion Needed

I'm creating GUIs from PyQt so I really don't need the Win enviroment. So would you still not recommend Win IOT?

Opinion Needed

I've been playing with the Pi for awhile using Raspian and I've been thinking about moving to Windows 10. I've never really been a fan of Linux. I'm really tired of investing massive amounts of time getting something working and finding out that it is no longer compatible with a newer version. Or do...

PYQT5

How long does it usually take to get to version releases (PYQT5) in the PI repository once new versions have been released?

I'm trying to find a tutorial or download location where I can get PYQT5 but I've had problems with everything I've tried. Can someone point me in the right direction?

2014 Version of Pianobar

The version of Pianobar in the repository is 2012. The Jessie repository has a 2014 version (https://packages.debian.org/jessie/armhf/pianobar/download) and I was wondering if there is a new version of Raspbian/Wheezy available somewhere or if the Jessie version will work since it is the only 2014 v...

PYQT Same Layout with Mult. defs

I'm trying to use the same Window for widgets which are defined in multiple def under the same class but I can't figure out how to do it. Each def has its own window that pops up so I'm not sure how to set it up to populate on a single Window (layout). Can anyone point me in the right direction? I'v...

I found the following code to display an image from a website. It will do bmp and png images but won't do jpg(jpeg) images. Can some tell me how I can also do jpg images? import sys from PyQt4 import QtGui import urllib.request class Example(QtGui.QWidget): def __init__(self): super(Example, self)._...

I need to display an image of an album cover from Pianobar in PYQT. Pianobar produces a website address where the jpg is located and I need to figure out how to display this image in Python (PYQT). Can anyone point me in the right direction? I've searched the internet for awhile without any luck.

Pianobar Stations

Does anyone know how to get the list of stations posted into a file so I can read the file into Python? I can get Pianobar to load the song information into an "out" file but I can't figure out how to get the list of preferred stations loaded.

Pianobar songDuration

I'm using Pianobar and I'm trying to get the duration of the song in the out file using the following line: echo -e "$title\n$artist\n$album\n$stationName\n$songDuration\n$coverArt\n$stationCount" >> /home/pi/.config/pianobar/scripts/out All of it works except "songDuration" which only displays 0. Out of Memory

I've got a 16 GB SD card running Raspbian and I'm told that I'm out memory when I try to install anything new. As far ask I can tell I'm only using about 6 gb as shown when I run df -T -h (rootfs and /dev/root are at 100% usage). If this is correct and I'm only using about 6G where is the remaining ...

In order to get PyQt working I had to switch to Anaconda in Pycharm but I can't figure out how to get the .py file to run on the Pi. Do I need to load Anaconda on the Pi in order to run the file or what do I need to do?

Re: Python Cross Compiler

Windows. I use WinSCP and it works pretty good. I was just hoping for something more automatic. It is nice to have the C++ cross compiling where you just hit the button and it automatically deploys to the Pi.

Can anyone tell me how I can get a GUI (Qt) working with Python? I've tried PyQt but I run into all kinds of problems. I really like Visual Studios but I can't figure out how to get Qt and Python to work together (I can with C++). I've also tried using a few tutorials (Eclipse, WinPython, etc.) and ...

Re: SSH within RPI

I've found a few links that show SSH being used with Denon receivers so I was going to try it tonight. I can control it from a web browser without a problem and I'd like to adapt it for use with the Pi. Node.js is definately an option but I was hoping to be able to just open a socket (or whatever) a...

SSH within RPI

I'd like to be able to use my Pi to control my Denon receiver and I think SSH might be the easiest way to control it using the ethernet port of the receiver. Is it possible to have the Pi use SSH to send out commands using C++? If so can someone give me an example?
