Re: Enabling HW watchdog timer on RaspiOS Buster Pi 4B

OK, so I think I have enabled the watchdog timer on my Pi 4B (Buster) but now I cannot seem to get RaspiOS to hang with a fork bomb. Good in a way, it shows how resilient it is but I want it to hang to test the watchdog timer. Any ideas?

Enabling HW watchdog timer on RaspiOS Buster Pi 4B

I want to enable the hardware watchdog timer on my Pi 4B (Buster) and I understand that all that is required is to enable it via systemd’s /etc/systemd/system.conf entries. Unfortunately I have found three articles by Goolging that all differ in one or more respects. Is there a definitive ‘how to’ a...

@HvdW >>>Besides: the openvpn port 1194 is all too often blocked on public WiFi.

You do not have to use the default openvpn port, in fact it is better if you don't. I use a port somewhere near the 25,000 area and I never get "blocked".

Since we are swinging the lights and telling war stories - I remember our ICL 1903 with disc drives that had hydraulic actuators! Messy! :D

RTC when gpio pins 1-10 occupied?

I have a Pi4 with a Razberry installed on the gpio header. The Razberry occupies gpio pins 1 through 10. I would like to include a RTC - is there any way I can get a RTC installed where pins 1-10 are not available :?:

add log file to /var/log/

I have an application that writes to a log file. I create (via sudo touch) a blank log file (foobar.log) in /var/log/foobar.log. If I then create the following entry in /etc/fstab... tmpfs /var/log tmpfs size=50M,nodev,nosuid 0 2 ...reboot and then look in /var/log/ I cannot see foobar.log if I.. ca...

OK, looks like I will have to live with it for now. Eventually this Pi4 will be connected to my LAN so the problem should go away.

Tried 3 different cables - no change. Changing the WiFi channel is not really an option. This is very disappointing, perhaps I should raise a bug report?

Raspberry Pi 4 WiFi

Has anyone else noticed that the Pi 4 wireless seems to have much less range than, say, the Pi 3? My normal work area is about 6 metres from the router through one breeze-block wall. I have tinkered with various Pis (2s, and 3s) in this location without any WiFi issues but the Pi 4 intermittently ha...

I believe that to obtain type approval the vehicle's speedometer must not under-read. If the manufacturer does not get type approval they cannot sell the car to the public.

Dougie - OK here's the long story. About two years ago I wrote a bash script to clone the Raspberry Pi SD card on a running system. As I said previously I am not much of bash scripter but my script does what I want it to. Except -- when I try to boot the cloned SD card I found it would hang. I found...
