Re: Network boot issue with 4.9

I copied bootcode.bin to TFTP, but nothing changed. bootcode.bin is not requested at TFTP if there is SD with bootcode.bin in RPi3. Here is the list of files requested for one boot with SD and bootcode.bin on it: Mar 5 02:11:39 c12 atftpd[1041]: Serving autoboot.txt to 10.1.1.213:49153 Mar 5 02:11:3...

I wrote new Raspbian lite image. Boot Pi3. sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get upgrade sudo apt-get install rpi-update sudo rpi-update I got 4.9.13-v7+ kernel and firmware from 2017-03-02 15:32, and it works. Nice. Then I added "program_usb_boot_mode=1" too /boot/config.txt, rebooted, removed this line...

Re: Thin client from Raspberry Pi 2

As our users say WTware works on Pi 3 now. Only WiFi is not working yet. We'll make it work as soon as we receive our Pi 3. So our project becomes https://winterminal.com WTware for Pi 2-3 :)

Re: Thin client from Raspberry Pi 2

At first, download new WTware version and rewrite SD card. At the very beginning of boot press Del to Enter Setup. In text menu change network to Wifi and specify your Wifi settings. It should work. If any problems, please, contact me support@wtware.com

Re: Thin client from Raspberry Pi 2

From your wikipedia link about Network boot: Process The initial software to be run is loaded from a server on the network; for IP networks this is usually done using the Trivial File Transfer Protocol. The server from which to load the initial software is usually found by broadcasting a Bootstrap P...

Re: Thin client from Raspberry Pi 2

So you are stating that if the RPi is shutdown and the power lead is still plugged in you can then fire it up with no user intervention ???
No, RPi doesn't support Wake-on-LAN.

Is PiNet a thin client? As far as I understand, PiNet uses server to store files. Applications are executed locally on Pi.

Re: any raspberry pi 2 thin client software?

You do not fully explain that this software offers very little over what is already available, is it Debaian or Ubuntu or ?? Based ?? It is the software for creating Windows thin clients. It connects to Windows Remote Desktop Services and displays Windows remote desktop on Pi 2. Sound, FAT32/exFAT/...

Re: any raspberry pi 2 thin client software?

My idea of a "thin client" is an ssh session :)
I thought today's "thin client" was the web browser.
RDP is something like ssh with graphics :) Modern browsers are not very "thin"
"thin client" sounds like something out of the late 1980's
From 70s :) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DEC_GT40

Pi2 network boot

Pi2 can boot by network with u-boot. Real network boot with DHCP and TFTP, like x86 does. SD card is still necessary because there is no BIOS ROM chip in Pi. U-boot should be patched to use Device Tree. I used oficial u-boot repository and patch from this topic: https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/vi...
