RPi2 NO analog sound Running Arch Linux

I built an Arch System today for my RPi2 as that is what I run on about every other box here. That was a small challenge. I have another card that is a custom Raspbian install. I set the audio in the NOOBS config when it was first set up and have never had any problem with it. Today I have read and ...

Re: Install Arch Linux for RaspberryPi

I saw the video where one of you used gparted to partition the card. I do not even have the option to use FAT32 when partitioning the 100M partition. I swear Regular ARCH was easier than the ARM install : ? I used fdisk and the got to the mkfs.vfat /dev/sdX1 [sdb1] and it says it cannot do it. I nee...

Screenfetch. Archey, or Anything Similar?

I have always used Screenfetch or Archey on my Linux installs.

Apt-get says they aren''t offered. Is there anything similar to these I can get for Raspbian? Is there a way to get either to work on Raspbian?

Thanks in advance!

Re: Having Trouble With OSs.

I have no trouble in NOOBS/Raspbian. Any thoughts? You're going to hate this answer... use NOOBS/Raspbian... in fact, just use Raspbian; stop bonking around with the other OS(s) until such time as you can setup a modern hdmi display. If you can get Raspbian to work with vga, why fight the problem? ...

Having Trouble With OSs.

I have used the dd command for several years. Never a problem. Have downloaded the SDCard formatter and Windows img writer for windows. Have tried Ubuntu 14.04, Ubuntu Mate, BerryBoot, and have tried it in both Linux and Windows. The yellow light comes on and flickers for quite some time. Then level...

Re: Ubuntu-Mate OS questions(s)

Did it not directly beneath that say BUILD??

I do have one Windows machine ...A dual boot machine. Arch - Windows 7. I do have a Linux box around here also. My other 3 laptops have 1) Arch, 2) Manjaro XFCE, and the last 3) a OLD Dell is running PCLinuxOS.

Thanks for the clarification

Ubuntu-Mate OS questions(s)

OK, I have been reading up on the Ubuntu-Mate distro for the RPi2. I have read what I can on this forum and from the Ubuntu-Mate sites. https://ubuntu-mate.org/raspberry-pi/ . and https://bitbucket.org/ubuntu-mate/ubuntu-mate-rpi2 . First I see where there is "A pre-built image is also available." I...

Has to Reinstall NOOBS Can't change the Theme

Where do I change the themes? I used to be able to go into appearance and do it. I guess the distro was "upgraded"?

Please help. I really do not like the White theme.

Thanks iin advance

Re: "Monster" RPi 2 image now available

I am having problems with BB. I downloaded the zip and extracted it. Then copied all the files to car. Will not work. Both red and yellow light just stay on.

Was going to try and use windows img writer but there are 2 files when extracted one kernel and one bb img.?

YouTube Plays Well

I was kind of bumming about having trouble getting youtube video to play on the new Pi2. I also did not like the browsers. I installed IceWeasel and was smiling about how much better it was compared to Epiphany or Midori and for some reason clicked a youtube video. It plays as well as any I have eve...

Re: Difference between Midori and Epiphany ?

I have used Midori extensively in the past. I like it for a lot of reasons. The Epiphany browser, although seems to run better on my Pi2. For some reason my Midori install has a crashing problem. I do not like the fact that Epiphany will not let us open multiple tabs. This is kind of un-handy in my ...
