Re: how do i make an image of sd card

I'm using linux. I downloaded the image from ciseco to work with their wireless hardware and wrote the img using dd the way dougie suggests but i guess in reverse. ??? ie make img instead of write img....... Having already done that, ill give that a whirl but certainly take a look at the other sugge...

I am using raspbian as part of my house alarm with a wireless inventors kit. What i want to do is as i extend the system, make a complete image of the sd card as a means of a backup which i can restore at a later date if required. Something similar to creating an image i used to make the sd card in ...

To do a cron job, follow this:

Re: Interfacing with house alarm

Sorted using a 1 channel 3v relay. Takes a 3v and ground and a gpio pin signal to switch the relay. Works perfectly using bcm numbering.

What i was trying to do was twofold: 1: automatically login as std user 'pi' 2: automatically run a python program I did the first part fine by modifying the inittab file? if i remember right Then what i did w...

Re: Interfacing with house alarm

Thanks for the reply. Ive actually noticed i have it backwards. The circuit is N/C and when it opens it is alarm state. So i guess the question is: Can i run a circuit through the pi that is closed ie switched to ground and break the circuit ie open it directly with the pins? or is it better to sign...

[SOLVED]Interfacing with house alarm

This maybe a straightforward question, also unsure if in the correct part of the forum so please excuse me in advance. What i am attempting to do is expand my house alarm to a remote building using the Ciseco WIK. I have that working now (both communicating) and the Python programme functionality is...

Re: Start sh script from GPIO button

This is similar to what i'm trying to do and wondered if a callback function was the correct way to handle it. However, to complicate things, i'm doing it wirelessly using a ciseco WIK. What i'm attempting to do is in two parts: 1. poll the xino board periodically to see if it is still there, this p...
