Re: New linux GPIO (C++/C) poll Interrupt problem

It seems that it might be my lack of knowledge that is the problem. Just using a button to generate an interrupt from 3.3v is not how to do it, it seems. Further .... Ive just changed it to use epoll rather than poll , and it looks like its the same, BUT ... Then i added a capacitor at 0.1 between -...

New linux GPIO (C++/C) poll Interrupt problem

Quick: When i push the button, i sometimes get 2 interrupts :D I will post my current code, (work in progress) which is a thread , spawned from a GUI, polling for interrupts. It seems, somehow, that if i poll for both rising and falling edge, it gets a little more stable. But still not ok.... at all...

Re: Linux’s New GPIO User Space

I had high hopes of the new gpiochip based kernel interface. I hope I am not using it properly as they have been dashed. It feels like the kernel interface only expects people to read a button or switch a LED on or off. As far as I can see a GPIO can only be in one mode at any one time - INPUT, OUT...

Re: Linux’s New GPIO User Space

Your great pigpio lib made me start to work with GPIO and electronics, thanks ! ;) Im no where near your understanding of all this stuff, i just try to make an easy to use GUI for simple stuff, not a lib. Ex. requesting an output line or similar for input Screenshot from 2018-05-11 14-55-15.png Or s...

Re: Linux’s New GPIO User Space

Thanks for reply.

So if i use the Broadcom GPIO pin numbering, i kind of get the correct amount of exposed gpio signals ?
Ive not tested if they are all equal to gpiochip lines numbering, yet, but looks like it.

I will narrow my coding to those exposed pins then ;)

Linux’s New GPIO User Space

Im posting my question here, as this might only be valid for Fedora 26-28 OS atm. (im on F27 not yet upgraded to 28) I have made an GUI (Gtkmm) application in C++ for working with GPIO, and different chips like mcp23017 port expander (and more to come) All based on the new gpiochip char device , so ...

Re: RPi3 xfce can't find wifi

Maybe try out all new Fedora 23 on RPI2 and RPI3 using this link

https://hobo.house/2016/03/13/installin ... erry-pi-3/

Works for me, running XFCE and WIFI, except the builtin bluetooth in RPI3, but works with BT dongle though.

Gertbot / rpi how to input on/off signals ?

I got the Gertbot to work as a DCC controller, for trains and decoders, even programming of decoders works perfect. Now i need a way to read on/off signals, as many as possible, for detection of trains on tracks or positions. Since gertbot cant read the DCC feedback , i was thinking that i could do ...

Re: Gertbot as DCC Programmer?

Thanks for the DCC in Gertbot ! I am able to program and control Accessory Decoders and expect it to work for train decoders too. Tested with servos, turnouts, signals, lights, and an extended decoder for motors. (ESU switchpilot + extension) Im working on some software for railroad control, to cont...

DCC help needed

(noob alert) My idea was to make some software for controlling one or more DCC Accessory decoders. (c++) But i cant even get it to work, using the gertbot debug gui ..... I have an DCC Accessory decoder from ESU named "Switchpilot2.0" with a single turnout connected to first output (1) I use an mark...

Re: Fedora 21 REMIX for Raspbery Pi 2B

RTFM ? There is a file called "config.txt" as in "/boot/config.txt" .... Modify it to your needs, according to the documentation . You might want to read this http://elinux.org/RPiconfig#Video_mode_options Since i am using "remote desktop" to the RPI, i use these settings in my config.txt for a 720p...

Re: Fedora 21 REMIX for Raspbery Pi 2B

Thanks for the great work on this !!

Im using XFCE image, and it is perfect !
It boots right into the graphic login screen, where you can login as root using fidora as password.

Make a user account, log in to that, and do a system update. (theres a lot)

Its like Amiga, all over again :D
