Re: RT5572 Driver

Thanks, stijim.
I have a Rosewill RNX-N600UBE with the RT5572 chipset. Your post worked for me perfectly with Raspbian Jessie.

Re: Micro-SD on Raspberry Pi 3

I like the new SD slot but I needed to trim a small bit of the plastic base of my Flirc case for easy removal. Five minutes with a utility knife--problem solved.

Re: My Desktop Pi3 fan cooled, optimized and overclocked

Very interesting post, Nickcn. I'm running Raspbian Jessee on a RP3. Today I went from a plastic case and a aluminum heatsink to a Flirc case. The Flirc case lowered idle temps from 54 degrees to 39 degrees. I think my passive setup with the Flirc case is good enough to give your overclock a go but ...

Re: Pi 2B vs Pi 3B

My RP3 in the Flirc case idles at 37 degrees. I can easily remove the SD card. Use a utility knife to remove some of the plastic base. It only takes about five minutes and it isn't noticeable.

Re: How to disable the Pi3's WLAN & Bluetooth ?

It works now. I'm not sure what went wrong before. I had the wifi plugin in the system tray before the first attempt that caused the temperature rise. I restored a system backup and removed the wifi plugin before the second attempt that worked. Disabling wifi and bluetooth seems to have decreased te...

Re: How to disable the Pi3's WLAN & Bluetooth ?

I thought disabling wifi and bluetooth might lower temperatures and boost performance so I created the raspi-blacklist.conf file and rebooted. Wifi was disabled but the temperature monitor went from 53 to 67. I don't understand why I had a 14 degree rise but after removing raspi-blacklist.conf and r...

Re: Guide: Chromium 48 on Raspbian Jessie

Thanks for your work, kusti8. I tried to install on an RPi2 to a new Raspbian Jessie setup but the install hangs at sudo dpkg -i chromium-browser-l10n_48.0.2564.82-0ubuntu0.15.04.1.1193_all.deb chromium-browser_48.0.2564.82-0ubuntu0.15.04.1.1193_armhf.deb

Jessie - HPLIP 3.16.2

I've been trying unsuccessfully to set up Jessie as print server with an old HP Laserjet 1012. I thought that maybe I needed the HPLIP plugin compiled for ARM that was first released in HPLIP 3.15. The Jesse repository offers 3.14 so I seem to need a manual install. When I tried to install HPLIP 3.1...
