Re: RMA Problems with RS

It all went quiet after the email asking for a delivery address. I figured enough was enough and replied to the email stating that I would be asking my bank to issue a charge back at the end of the week. A day later I got an email stating that a PI was being shipped out and included a tracking numbe...

Re: RMA Problems with RS

I just got an email from the RS raspberry pi address!!!

They want a shipping address. Does this mean that I might get my pi replaced? (4 months after I sent it back).

I will let you all know if and when it turns up.

Re: RMA Problems with RS

@z0mb13e: sorry if I read something into your post that was not there. Many of us would consider it poor customer service to not keep customers apprised in a reasonable time frame as to the status of their orders, returns and inquiries, and to not respond to emails, so it was easy to conclude you w...

Re: RMA Problems with RS

I'm in the UK. I didn't even get an order email way back when I ordered it. I got the RS invite to order and apart from the official announcements about when stock was likely to come in, I got nothing from RS. I've used them in the past for ordering electronic components and couldn't fault them on c...

Re: RMA Problems with RS

I sent my faulty RaspberryPi back to RS on the 21st October and am still waiting to hear what is going on. I've sent several emails (about one a week) to [email protected].com to see if I can get a status update, but so far I've just seen two automated replies. Has anyone made any progress getting i...

Re: Pi Case / Enclosure

<t>What better excuse to buy a 3d printer than the multitude of case designs on thingiverse<br/> <br/> Personally I like the modular one and have been busy calibrating my RepRap Huxley with a view to printing one for my pi which is sitting naked on the desk compiling some 3d printer software (just t...

Re: 1440x900 with Debian6-19-04-2012 broken

<t>I was having the same problem and not getting anywhere with the disable_overscan line in the config. Restarting X didn't have the desired effect. Seems you actually have reboot the Pi... kinda used to not rebooting Linux to fix problems so a reboot seemed overkill... so anyway a reboot fixed it.<...

Re: Website back up (obviously)

Is this why my post count reset? (I don't mind. I hadn't made that many posts) just wondering it it is related or is it because I haven't logged in for ages?

<t>drgeoff said: <br/> <br/> <br/> Removing that part is no trivial task.  Is there an automated solution that could be immediately brought into service?  To do it manually one joint at a time with a soldering iron and solderwick is a fairly slow and immensely boring job.  Maybe a custom bit for the...

Re: The obvious choice for a case

Clearly the r-pi would be perfectly at home in the "INTERNET" but would there be room with all that information squeezed inside?

Re: File and/or media server

<t>Quote from Svartalf on September 9, 2011, 23:46RAID1...well, you've got some fun ahead of you trying to determine which is right and which is not depending on how intact the array really is. If it's intact, it SHOULD just assemble at start because you've got the volumes tagged as RAID volumes and...

Re: File and/or media server

<t>I thought I would have a look around for 2.5" enclosures (I'm not looking for built in raid, I want it presented as just a bunch of disks) and found this http://www.integral-storage.co.....-enclosure - no idea if anyone is selling them but looks nice... I wonder if there is room for a r-pi in the...

Re: File and/or media server

<r>Abishur, have you looked at the Drobo? This is a DAS that would allow you to plug in drives in any configuration and it takes care of the allocation of space and redundancy. It aint cheap. I don't think any drive enclosure worth it's salt is going to be cheap. I would avoid the cheap ones as has ...
