Re: kernel update problem

After investingating a lot of time, even suspecting my MicroSD according to this post (https://github.com/raspberrypi/linux/issues/1518), I were finaly able to fix my problem. I was using an appliance which had this line in /boot/config.txt: device_tree= This made the new kernel (4.4.50 or self comp...

Re: kernel update problem

Many thanks, this was the solution.

Doing a "modprobe configs" made apt-get upgrade working again.

I notice that after the upgrade the file config.gz disappear, but I can create it again

kernel update problem

Hi all, I'm facing to a strange problem since the lasttest two raspbian update on my Raspberry pi 3. When I'm doing a apt-get update && apt-get upgrade, then I get somehow a corrupted kernet file (when booting the red light stays on). Fortunatly by copying the file kernel7.img from an other raspberr...

Re: iptables and performance

Thanks for replying. I have found this note on network performance: http://www.jeffgeerling.com/blogs/jeff-geerling/getting-gigabit-networking I don't really understand the difference between download and iperf benchmark. Is the situation with the firewall similar to the download? In this case it wo...

iptables and performance

Hello, I'm using a raspberry pi 2 B since about 2 years as a Firewall with iptables (and the latest xtables-addons) . Everything fine since few weeks when my Provider decided to increase my Internet Speed from 40 mbits/s to 100 mbits/s. Now when I'm doing a Speed test against Internet, I just never ...

Re: Jessie Q&A

Unfortunately, the kernels provided by the Raspberry Pi foundation still don't have a kernel-headers package :( You don't need a headers package, just pull a copy of the 4.1.10+ source tree. Not 'just'. You need to set a couple of things up before that's usable so you can compile kernel modules. An...

Re: xtables on Raspbian - module assistant and headers

Hi all, I wonder if someone of you is using the Raspberry as a Firewall with masquerading? Since I used this command: iptables -t nat -A POSTROUTING -o eth0 -j MASQUERADE with the setup described above in this post, my OS is crashing (skb_over_panic): kernel BUG at /net/core/skbuf.c:100! Internal er...

Re: xtables on Raspbian - module assistant and headers

Same problem to me. I even tried to install linux headers for the kernel (dpkg -i linux-headers-3.18.7-v7+_3.18.7-v7+-2_armhf.deb), then it is ending with this message: Loading new xtables-addons-1.42 DKMS files... First Installation: checking all kernels... It is likely that 3.18.7-v7+ belongs to a...
