Re: Keyboard input to GPIO output

When you share code, put your code in a Code block... its on the editor panel above, between Quote and List. That will preserve your indents and makes stuff look nicer for the people trying to make sense of it. tnx raw_input is not generally something you want to use; in any case, your decision tree...

PineA64_GPIO_fan_PN2222.jpg In this pic, I have inverted the Sparkfun breakout cobbler (its labeled on both sides) to bring the PI bus to the same side of the board as the euler bus. Here the LED lab is on the left side of the breadboard, while the PN2222 fan motor speed controller transistor is on...

Re: Cooling the Black Ice Zebra Case from C4Labs for PI3B

Good afternoon everyone, I have simplified the active cooling solution for the Zebra Case Black Ice for Raspberry PI; this in response to the idea that the motor might be driven nicely by a single transistor--- and in fact it can be ! I now have single transistor (PN2222 or 2N2222) motor controllers...

Re: iptables and performance

The weak link on the Raspberry PI is the on-board usb hub.

... everything passes through there, and I mean everything; including the ethernet port.

Its not a 'firewall' issue per se... its a through-put latency issue inherent in the PI hardware.

Read-up on what it takes to make any application code a service in systemd.

... systemd is the replacement for sysvinit. It is the 'new' init, and can be used to start everything including your coffee maker.

google how to make a systemd service.

Re: Arduino pro mini i2c slave

Of course you can make the Atmel devices i2c slaves; whether there is a library to do this, I do not know-- nor do I care. I am interested in making the arduino (or pyboard) into an i2S, SPI, or i2c 'slave'. Its very feasible , and will take far less memory than you suspect. You will need to setup t...

You 'can' use resistors as level shifters; however, its dangerous.

... I always use level shifters designed for the purpose, like the ones from Ada Fruit.

Make sure that none of your own modules are called RPi.GPIO

... otherwise, that name will get imported instead of the PI version...

There is nothing wrong with your syntax... so the problem has to be a naming problem.
