Re: Dell Studio One 19 Conversion

This LCD driver may work

http://m.ebay.com/itm/200954372154?_mwBanner=1

I.e Google spare LCD screen for studio one and you find

http://m.ebay.com/itm/351808990130

This gives you the LCD model number. Then Google HDMI LCD driver for that model
And you get the link I first posted

Re: PIXEL FOR PC AND MAC

I used RUFUS to create a bootable USB (using fat32) and it works great, but the settings in Chromium and Sound Settings don't persist on reboot. I tried downloading Etcher but the download takes forever and keeps failing Had to try a few different Wifi dongles , until I found one that was detected.

Re: No mixing of solder types

Is there such a thing as flux free solder, i get bad asthma from soldering
I have a solder fan extractor which is designed to.remove the fumes, but it only partly stops asthma.
Lead does not bother me.
A lot of tenements in glasgow still have some lead pipes

Re: battery in mah needed for running rpi3 for an hour..?

Ive just put together an esp8266 with an oled screen, to make a voltmeter to read the voltage of my 18650s which power my portable pi.

The Pi3 takes less than 500ma,
Its the 10inch lcd and driver which hogs the current at over an amp

Re: 1080x1200 display

oculus rift uses 2 amoled 1200 x 1080 displays,
so looks like your unit should be 1200 x 1080

if they are being sold as a pair with the Hdmi driver for 100 dollars, then this could be another good use for a pi

should work, you will have to test

the xdotool line minimizes chromium, in theory you could take that out , since omxplayergui acts like a normal window

YT_LINK=`xsel`
omxplayergui --preset=default ytdl $YT_LINK

this should make it work with omxplayergui (if you have KWEB installed)

Im using 64 meg for my gpu settings and omxplayer seems happy.

As gkreidl says above omxplayergui will work also, but i think you can only get omxplayergui if you do a KWEB install which is a big install. Please correct me if i'm wrong.

My point was , that if you want your bank to compensate you for a hacked bank account, you may have more luck if you tell them you are using the latest windows operating system with the default firewall and antivirus installed. If you tell them you are using a 30 pound pi, they may think toy. I know...

Does anyone do their banking on a Pi? If it is used just by the kids for their school work, Flash should not be a big deal? Hmm, it will be on the home network, still a Pi even running Flash must be safer than Windows 10? Been any Pi virus's yet? Chromium on my pi3 is easily powerfull enough to run...

Re: Fullscreen hi res Youtube on PIXEL mod

note you can use -f best (instead of -f 22) in the script to get the best youtube resolution available.

-f 22 will default to 720p , not all vids (i.e. older ones) will have a 720p option and will fail
