SPIDev Frequency halves?

Hi, just started using my PI2 and trying to get SPI working. I'm using a slightly modified version of the code listed under the heading "Using The SPI Port Without the BCM2835 Library" http://www.raspberry-projects.com/pi/programming-in-c/spi/using-the-spi-interface Its working great after I added a...

RPI2 Eclipse CDT Install

Now the PI has some more horsepower would it be possible to get eclipse installed on the PI and compile and test locally?

The version of eclipse in the raspbian repo is really old but i dont know how to get one of the newer ones running? Can I compile eclipse from source or am I missing something?

Re: Replacement memcpy

If anyone wants to test this: cd /home/pi wget https://dl.dropbox.com/u/3669512/temp/libcofi_rpi.so echo /home/pi/libcofi_rpi.so | sudo tee /etc/ld.so.preload and then reboot. You should find memset/memcpy goes faster (which should improve X speed when dragging/scrolling/redrawing). Please report i...

Right now I'm getting 4.74 from the lapdock battery. I used a couple extra adapters in my setup rather then splicing cables.

You not backwards powering the PI from the USB peripheral ports are you?

Re: I made a Raspberry PI Laptop

The lapdocks do not enable usb power until the HDMI is connected. This is built into them. Luckily connecting the unpowered PI via hdmi will enable the ports which in turn power the Pi.

Re: I made a Raspberry PI Laptop

That's great. Where did you get the hdmi cable?

My Pi had no problems detecting full screen resolution. I had to take out the hdmi_mode from config.txt and it worked (auto-detected). I used hdmi_drive=2 to make sound work.

Re: I made a Raspberry PI Laptop

You can control the brightness! Using the FN key on the keyboard and the picture of a Sun and a Shady Sun. They don't even post back keycodes over USB it is handled directly and there is an On Screen Display that comes up with a percentage bar overlaid on the screen. As for volume that is going to a...

Here is a little diagram I just knocked up for making the USB connector I would also recommend you put a power switch in the 5v line to the Micro USB PI Power connector otherwise there is no way to turn if off without disconnecting it http://forums.bit-tech.net/picture.php?albumid=1910&pictureid=272...

Re: I made a Raspberry PI Laptop

I just have got sound working! Its Sound over HDMI.

You need to set hdmi_drive=2 in the config.txt and then on boot modprobe snd_bcm2835

see http://elinux.org/R-Pi_Troubleshooting#Sound

This is getting better and better

Re: I made a Raspberry PI Laptop

Its running 1366x768 and is very crisp.

There aren't any speakers on the lap dock which is a shame so no sound.

However there is a pretty big Lithium battery in it which will run the PI for Hours so that's cool.

Here is some pics of my Raspberry PI Laptop. It uses a Motorola Lapdock which is a Dumb 11 inch screen, keypad and mouse. Hey, just started using Hexxeh's Raspbian-R3 image and a couple of things. Icons for LXDE are missing: apt-get install lxde-icon-theme also rpi-update will only work after time has been set so I think he should also include ntpdate apt-get install ntpdate and as part of the update process run: ntpda...
