Thanks for that.

Again ... I hope others familiar with BOINC can verify my results/Raspbian most welcome speed-up for the RPi.

confuseling - those figures are pretty much the same as my "New" stats. Anyone else? Heater - think of BOINC as a wrapper. BOINC runs things called "Projects" - the Projects can use whatever works ... C, OpenCL, OpenGL, Python, Java etc etc and as we all know a code standard can handoff to any othe...

Re: Boinc in Rapsberry?

Update to earlier posts:- OProject The subproject ALX appears to be discontinued for some weeks now so no OProject work for the RPi. Also, IIRC, all OProject subprojects won't work on "old" BOINC versions e.g., (RPi) v7.0.27 and the much older, much beloved version provided by NativeBOINC. BOINC dev...

Re: Boinc in Rapsberry?

Experience running various BOINC projects on my RPi suggests more CPU memory over CPU overclock. Maybe there is a memory threshhold vs marginal return/swapfile issue? I don't know as I'm only running 256mb - pretty sucessfully  See:- http://boincstats.com/en/stats/-1/host/detail/73034905/charts

Re: RPi killed my mouse - or not?

Yep - the powered USB hub solved my problem. I never did get +5v but the TP1/TP2 voltage is now stable enough for my needs. Been running 24/7 for over 4 days without isssues crunching BOINC projects. Thanks again obcd Ray BTW the powered USB hub makes extra power available that is enough to keep the...

Re: RPi killed my mouse - or not?

Thanks for the heads-up obcd . 4.6v ... not great. If the RPi sucks just 0.1v extra the mouse will probably throw out it's dummy. I did a quick check:- http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=66&t=20163&p=262768&hilit=TP1+TP2+voltage#p262768 and saw Aglet had the same problem and sorted it...

RPi killed my mouse - or not?

Here's a weird one ... Running Raspian for some months. Got all the usual problems ... worked around OK. I use standard PS2 wired mouse/keyboard (m/kb). They connect to the RPi via a PS2-to-USB adapter. I noticed the m/kb often would not respond when left idle for some hours so I got used to it - ki...

NativeBOINC? Not on the RPi Android "releases" and not, I fear, soon given the existing history :(

Re: Boinc in Rapsberry?

Hi Daniel. You are a proper genius :ugeek: to see that the standard BOINC 7.0.27 on the RPi simply needs a tailored per-project binary that enables crunching on the RPi. Following your instructions I just got my 1st task running - [email protected]. Frankly I don't care when it finishes ... or if it's sucessful ...

Nah - 7.0.27 just gives the usual "project does not support armwhatever" fails when attaching.

TBH I don't care about forum abuse:- this is important (think 1 mill+ new BOINCers.)

FWIW you'll LOVE that U2 when it arrives - I have 3 crunching via Android

Hi Daniel. I tried all of them and more ... all failed under the latest (automatic) BOINC package install 7.0.27. Re: Boinc in Rapsberry?

Great to see people have BOINC running on the RPi.
I'm still trying without luck ... using the standard BOINC download (sudo apt-get install boinc) gets me version 7.0.27.
What BOINC version are people with completed tasks running?

TIA, Ray
