Re: SDL2 Transparency

Hi,
yes and no
i have a working system using python and pi3d but the cpu usage is high.

I've just been given a tip of a fix for C and SDL2 (much lower cpu usage).
I'm just setting up to test it and see if it works.

Send me a message if i can help in anyway I'd be happy to.

Re: Odd problem with alpha in the frame buffer

as i said i'm still a little new to c, but so far i've tried clearing the render buffer to a rgba 2 ways. SDL_SetRenderDrawColor(renderer,255,255,255,0); SDL_SetRenderDrawBlendMode(renderer, SDL_BLENDMODE_BLEND); SDL_Surface *RGBSurface; RGBSurface = SDL_CreateRGBSurface(0,640,480,32,0,0,0,0); if (R...

Re: SDL2 Transparency

i'm trying to make the background transparent so that i can see the console / camera beneath or on layer 0(depends how your looking at it).
while drawing images to a layer above.

Thanks
Matthew

Re: SDL2 Transparency

I think I'm going to try that out, if that doesn't work I'm going to try parsing the already created/transparent window from the hello_font example to SDL.

although one side effect I'm getting at the moment is that the entire window is transparent including the contents that are draw.

SDL2 Transparency

Hi All, I'm working on a project at the moment that needs me to be able to see the console underneath an SDL2 window. I've got SDL2 working and it's using the rpi driver. in the src code for sdl2 there is a section that deals with the alpha settings for the dispmanx window. this is under src/video/r...
