Re: Screen blurry

Thanks for the help. The first line was already there, so all I did was add the hdmi_mode=4 setting. That fixed the problem.
Is this a bug? Should this be reported somewhere? I find it strange that a newly downloaded image doesn't work out of the box and requires changing a setting in a text file...

Screen blurry

I installed the new Windows 10 Iot Core image on the SD card (the one from July) and now the Pi's screen doesn't work properly (see image below). It worked fine with the previous version (from April). Do you know what could be the cause and how to fix it? Notice the colored square in the upper-right...

For now the UI performance are slow.
You write "for now", does that mean that it will in the future? If so, where can we find more information about this? Can you point us to some references? Thanks.

MediaElement doesn't load MP4 video

I'm testing a mediaelement control in XAML, but it doesn't load the video. This is what I have in XAML: <MediaElement x:Name="mediaElement1" Source="http://video.ch9.ms/ch9/dfee/44aa9dec-c2a6-4221-a488-fd44fb08dfee/AzurePowerShell101VMs.mp4" Grid.Row="1" /> It doesn't display any content (not even a...

Re: Windows IoT Core Watcher empty

Thanks for the reply. I saw this post earlier, but that is a different issue. I do see the Watcher window, the problem is that it's just empty. It doesn't show my Raspberry Pi, even though we're on the same local network.
I'm on Windows 8.1.
Thanks.

Windows IoT Core Watcher empty

My Windows IoT Core Watcher is empty, even though I am able to locate my Raspberry Pi using the router's list of connected devices and I am also able to successfully deploy an app to it from Visual Studio 2015. Any ideas why is the Watcher empty and how to fix it?
Thanks.

Yes. What could possibly go wrong... :)

How about the sd card getting corrupted?

Re: Thermometer not detected

Hello Daniel, I have finally managed to solve this problem! It seems to be hardware related. When I had the data pin of the thermometer connected to GPIO4, it would never get detected - even when I explicitly set: dtoverlay=w1-gpio,gpiopin=4 I tried connecting it to GPIO17 and updating the setting i...

Re: Thermometer not detected

Hello Daniel,
I followed your advice and your code detected the thermometer without any problems. It showed me its identifier and the temperature.
My kernel version is 3.18.7+
Do you know why the thermometer doesn't get detected when connected to GPIO 4 (pin 7)?
Thanks for any help.

Re: Thermometer not detected

Hi, thanks to all for your answers! Sorry for a dumb question, but how can I tell if I'm using "the new kernel"?? I checked the file /boot/config.txt and it already has a line that says "dtoverlay=w1-gpio" I am using standard 3-wire configuration with a 4k7 resistor. I'm also using the standard pin ...

Thermometer not detected

Hello, I am trying to get a digital thermometer ds18b20 to work with my Rapberry Pi, but for some reason it's not showing up under /sys/bus/w1/devices :-( Here's my setup: raspi1.jpg Here's another view: setup3.jpg I ran sudo modprobe w1-gpio and sudo modprobe w1-therm before going to that directory...
