Re: wlan won't set time

@ dgordon42

Using the tip from SR-71 in the link you provided and adding what you
suggested seems to have done the trick. When I started up this
morning wlan0 promptly set the time.
Thank You... :D

Re: wlan won't set time

It does not seem to be a firewall problem as I can associate wlan with a public wifi and still no go. In all cases I can plug in etho0 and the time gets set ok. After unplugging etho0 wlan keeps the time synced ok. I tried the commands below and they had no effect. sudo systemctl stop ntp sudo syste...

wlan won't set time

When I start up my RPi3 it sets the correct time as long as I have the ethernet cable plugged in. If I start it up with just the wlan only accessing the internet it will not set the time. If I momentarily plug in the ethernet cable it sets the time correctly and I can unplug the cable and then wlan ...

Re: Pi 3 Overheating Issue?

Take a look at Rive's setup. Without some air flow a small heatsink
is almost useless. A fan can make a remarkable difference.

Re: Was this too easy?

Don't worry as everything is ok. This is the default 'first boot' configuration for raspbian. If you click on menu then put your mouse pointer on Preferences you can select Raspberry Pi Configuration and change the way it boots up if this is what you want. Edit: Congrats on your purchase and welcome...

Re: Menu Button -- raspian

Right click on an empty space on the task bar then click on
Add/Remove Panel Items. Make sure the Panel Applets tab
is highlighted then click on Add and choose the Menu option
which might be towards the bottom of the list.

Re: module gpiozero doesn't exist apparently

You might try:

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get remove python3-gpiozero python-gpiozero
Then:

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get install python3-gpiozero python-gpiozero
I'm not sure this will work but it's worth a try...??

Re: module gpiozero doesn't exist apparently

The code is correct and it does work. Try using a text editor like
leafpad or nano and save the file as blink.py then from a terminal
window pointing to the directory where you saved the file type in
python blink.py (enter) and it works just fine.

So at some point in time will a regular update/upgrade sequence

@ Gerd and Rive

No need for an endless debate and/or mud slinging.....you are both winners
as you have both proven that the RPi3 runs much better with proper cooling.
Case closed...?

@ Moospreh A couple of things you might want to consider are tech support and fun factor. Tech Support: Between the RPF and this forum the free tech support is amazing. Fun Factor: Discovering what is possible with these tiny little RPi computers can provide a large fun factor. Like Dougie Lawson on...

@ MarkHaysHarris777

You might consider giving iceweasel a spin. I use it for several hours
a day on a pi3B and it very seldom crashes. In fact it's been over a month
since I've had a crash. It's much faster and more capable than epiphany
and on my overclocked pi3B youtube videos are mostly smooth.
