Re: 3b+ battery?

Noting the comments about noise I have gone for an adjustable dc:dc stepdown converter https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B015306ATQ?ref_=pe_3187911_248764861_302_E_DDE_dt_1 which delivers up to 3amps. Chose this because it gives led output voltage/current display so I can see what is going on. Happy to sa...

Re: 3b+ battery?

Thanks, I did see the review that talked about noise but wasn't sure whether that would be an issue for my purposes (the regulator could be sited with the battery below the metal deck of the vehicle. Clearly a 'quiet' unit would be better though.

The current setup feeds power via the 5v GPIO pin.

Re: RC Car

I have done this, using wi-fi, and got a bit frustrated with the steering control, the original had plastic gears and a hair spring centring mechanism. I tried replacing this with a servo which worked better but still was imprecise and slow to react. The donor setup was very tight on space limiting ...

3b+ battery?

Decided to try my cambot with a 3b+ to get the benefit of better wi-fi range. Existing 9.6v battery running through a Thunderborg motor controller didn't work - output to pi is only 1.5 amp. Tried splitting the power to give a direct connection to the pi from a battborg regulator set up but that als...

Re: Problem with unix socket nginx-uwsgi

Finally cracked the problem. Two issues one uwsgi hadn't fully installed and sockets would not create in/run despite all the ownership and permissions in the app.ini file. However, creating a /var/uwsgi folder owned by www-data and with liberal permissions solved it. Now data being passed from web p...

Re: Problem with unix socket nginx-uwsgi

Thanks for the link. I hadn't planned to use Flask. However, I have spent some time this evening re-jigging the setup as described in the article but the end result so far is the same errors. I'll dig into it further later.

Problem with unix socket nginx-uwsgi

I'm trying to get a php web page to pass variables to backend python app. I get a 502 bad gateway error when I try the page. The web server is nginx and has a working php-fpm setup using a unix socket in the /run/php folder. I then added a location for uwsgi gleaned from the many guides on the web: ...

Re: RPi Cam Web Interface

Thanks for your help, Bill.
First there was no Schedule.json in the www/Cam folder. However, saving settings with the button on schedule.php generated one which is attached as requested. It is late here now so I haven't been able to check whether generating the file stops the errors yet.

First thanks for the update to the install to deal with the change to PHP7.0. I used it to do clean install with nginx and php7.0 with no issues. Re: RPi Cam Web Interface

I have tried a few days ago to install RPi Cam Web Interface on a clean install from noobs. Re: Raspistill doesn't work but Rpi_Cam_Web_Interface does ?

Doh! you are quite right stopping the Rpi_Cam_Web_Interface does allow raspistill to run properly. I guess the problem getting nginx and php working masked the fact that the underlying code was running.

Re: Hall motor Sensors MCP23017 and PIGPIO

Thanks for the helpful comments. The mcp23017 provides pins that are much more accessible than those on the PI itself and a degree of protection for the PI - having managed to fry one of the i2c pins on a previous pi. I'll look to redesign the packaging to allow access to the pi pins themselves and ...

Thanks for the quick reply. my reading did highlight the speed issue and was what took me in the direction of PIGPIO which seems to have i2c capability and is fast. Re: PHP/Bootstrap Web Interface for the Pi Camera

Great project Ronny. Thanks to Slartybart for the summary of how to get Wi-Fi enabled. I used it to get Wi-Fi and the essential ip address on a Pi Zero. Bit of a fiddle as an hdmi monitor/tv plus usb hub for keyboard and Wi-Fi adapter were necessary. The only problem I have is that I couldn't add "d...
