Re: Ubuntu 14.04 (trusty) Raspberry Pi 2 image

I have now had chance to try this as well as the Linaro version and this does feel more complete and stable. Firefox and Chromium are later versions and Firefox doesn't crash like it does in Linaro/Ubuntu. Also the shutdown menu and usb drives work out of the box.. For some reason Lubuntu desktop to...

Re: Ubuntu / Linaro for Raspberry Pi 2

BTW, I used Ubuntu Linaro small developer image raspuntu-tjc-2015-02-10.zip, used gparted to resize/extend/ the rootfs partition and installed full version of KDE using: apt-get install kde-full It installed full Linaro desktop. I am interested to know how well KDE runs on this as it's quite a bit ...

Re: Ubuntu / Linaro for Raspberry Pi 2

After unscientific testing it appears Firefox is quicker than Chromium on this setup, this surprised me as Firefox has a reputation for not playing nice on ARM, that is not the case here. I don't know how much work Linaro have put into it to make it this way, the default home page is Linaro. 160+ GB...

Anyone know how to mount USB drives?

Edit to add
I am still using version 2, does version 3 fix the permissions issue?

Re: Ubuntu 14.04 (trusty) Raspberry Pi 2 image

Great to see another Ubuntu image up and running so quickly. I am currently running the Linaro/Ubuntu image which I am very happy with. (Still can't get over seeing a RPI running Ubuntu so well) Will be installing this as soon as I find another SD card, looks like I am going to have to buy a handful...

Re: Ubuntu / Linaro for Raspberry Pi 2

Tech Republic have done an article on how to install this, useful for anyone who has never install from an image before. http://www.techrepublic.com/article/how-to-get-ubuntu-desktop-on-the-raspberry-pi-2/ but they don't show how to expand your partition to let use the OS use the full drive. I would...
