glassfish 4.1 service start failed

I run glassfish on pi 2 and set it up to run on boot with update-rc.d. It works very well for a month or so, but it failed to start recently. syslog showed the failure is Caused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: org.apache.felix.framework.FrameworkWiringImpl Caused by: java.io.EOFException: Dete...

Re: A+ freezes but not B+ on 24x7 app

Thanks for the reply. I did have run the "free" command inside my program to monitor the consumption, though not as frequently. Here is the A+ output logged. First part is "free" after running for about 16 hours, then immediately the daily reboot message, then another "free" right after reboot. It h...

A+ freezes but not B+ on 24x7 app

I am running an app on Pi that use Raspbian + SDL and run 24x7. The problem is when it run on A+, it hangs randomly, no display, only red led lights. Sometimes few hours after boot, sometimes 40+ hours but never last > 2 days. When I move the sdcard to a B+, it runs > 1 week (could be longer, just s...

Re: reuse LCD for Pi

@rprom, thanks for the reply. I didn't expect it can be directly connected. I post the question in the hope that somebody can tell me what interface it is so that I can hunt for an adapter. There are two labels, one is a sticker on the metal enclosure of the screen, saying "M-QST7D0018" and '2011/06...

reuse LCD for Pi

I have a proprietary tablet provided by a local telecom carrier and now become useless because the service had terminated. But the tablet is still quite solid. I particularly interested in reusing the screen which is a, I think, resistive single touch. I hope I can connect it to a Pi. I post a few p...

Re: I2C, SPI, I2S, LIRC, PPS, stopped working? Read this.

Thanks for the reply PhiIE, following your advise: * put in ",sense=1" made mode2 not working, no output at all. Instead, I tried "dtparam=gpio_in_pull=up", mode2 working but irrecord is not, no dots come out. * condition should be no problem, changed battery since the problem, distance is just <10 ...

Thanks for the reply.

But I've tried many times. Everytime I failed at irw I remove the lircd.conf, then stop lircd, then mode2, then irrecord, then start lircd or reboot, then irw. Sometimes I use other remote controllers. But still failed at irw, not output at all.

Re: I2C, SPI, I2S, LIRC, PPS, stopped working? Read this.

I've set up my Pi B+ following this link http://ozzmaker.com/2013/10/24/how-to-control-the-gpio-on-a-raspberry-pi-with-an-ir-remote/ for IR. It works fine. But the remote controller was broken afterward. I decided to use an old DVD player's remote as replacement. So I did an apt-get update and upgra...

Re: rotate images on screen

After further research, the simplest API I found is ajstarks's openvg layer. Run the Shapedemo here https://github.com/ajstarks/openvg successfully in my B+. Starting to give a try with my own code. But before that, I have some questions hoping others can help: 1. Other than jpeg, what image format ...

Re: rotate images on screen

Thanks for the reply rpdom. Sorry for using the incorrect term "embedded Python". What I wanted to know is in fact answered by you: "Python on the Pi is exactly the same as on the PC". My question seems open because I may then have chance to get some info that is outside my search scope. I wanted to...

rotate images on screen

I am new to Pi (not own one yet), have brief experience on Linux, Python and C, and much on Java with NetBeans and Eclipse. I am thinking of an application that use Pi to display images on a screen and rotate them after an interval. I can use a Windows PC for development so the Pi is only used when ...
