Well, I have a Pi B+ (considering now buying a Pi2...), and have an external USB HDD attached to my pi. Transfers between the external HDD and another pc over LAN reaches 4 MB/s speed with Samba. That's quite bad when transferring big files. I also use my pi as a fileserver for the home network so.....
