how to "register" an add-on RPi board as a HAT

Hello, I wish to ask if a board developed strictly following the "official HAT requirements" can be seldom automatically considered as an "official" HAT or if, rather, it should be submitted in some way to the Raspberry Pi Foundation to be registered and checked to fulfil the expected requirements. ...

100baseT ethernet controller

Hello, I am interested in connecting a 100baseT ethernet chip to the SPI of a Compute Module 3. I have read the document "Compute module attaching and enabling peripherals Guide", which explains in Example 2 how to attach a 10baseT ENC28J60 SPI Ethernet Controller on BANK0. I wish to ask if anybody ...

Re: Flashing CM3 eMMC: how to mount partitions ?

Many thanks for your answer. I did simply as you pointed out and the CM3 booted up as expected.
Thanks a lot

Flashing CM3 eMMC: how to mount partitions ?

Hello, I am trying to follow the steps indicated in the documentation page "Flashing the Compute Module eMMC" and succeeded in writing the latest Raspbian Jessie OS image. Command " ls /dev/sd* " on the Ubuntu PC used for this purpose and connected to the Compute Module IO Board 3.0 correctly shows ...

Re: CM3 vertical socket

Hello, many thanks for your answers. Unfortunately, what they mean with "right-angled" is that the socket is 90° angled with respect to the PCB where the pins are soldered. This yields to a setup where the SODIMM module results parallel to the PCB, not right-angled. With right-angled I mean somethin...

Re: CM3 vertical socket

Thanks for your answer, but I believe that it is one of the usual horizontal mounting sockets. The 200 pins solder on top of the PCB as for any SMD device, but the CM3 is then inserted and locked in a horizontal position with this connector. They did this way because these sockets are widely used in...

CM3 vertical socket

Hello,
does anybody know if it exists, where to buy and which ordering code of a CM3 socket "vertical mount", i.e. so that the CM3 module will result orthogonal to the board where it fits instead of parallel as in the usual way ?

Many thanks in advance,
Marco

Re: Diagnosing problems with LAN9514 and Ethernet Jack

Hello, I wish to ask you guys who succeeded in interfacing LAN9514 with the Compute Module 3 if the JTAG connections are just important for proper biasing the device or if they need to be used after the board is populated, i.e. I wish to understand if this ethernet chip works as-is or need to be som...

Accessing CM3 resources in C

Hello,
I would ask if there is something like the "Mike McCauley's bcm2835 C library" capable to exploit all the available pins and signals of the Compute Module 3, or, in any case, an advice on how to get full functionality of the CM3 writing in C.

Many thanks in advance,
Marco

Re: CM3 as SPI Master ?

I'm sorry, you are definitely right, I switched the master-slave words. Pardon.
So, let me ask the opposite: can the CM3 act as an SPI slave ?
Thanks,
Marco

CM3 as SPI Master ?

Hi, as far as I know the Rpi board cannot be programmed to work as an SPI Master. I am wondering if the novel CM3, having more signals routed on the connector, can instead behave as an SPI Master. Any advice ? Moreover, up to now I have programmed the Rpi SPI in C by means of the bcm2835 library by ...

Re: SMTP Mail Server Help

Hello,
had the same problem, fixed by activating a "less secure" flag inside gmail, visiting this link: https://www.google.com/settings/security/lesssecureapps
Hope this helps,
Marco
