Re: XBMC - which image?

I've not tried any of the other distributions since Raspbmc started working with my wifi dongle out of the box, overall I'm very happy with it. The online installer is a pain if you're not set up for wired internet access though, so I normally use the pre-built images available from this thread: htt...

Re: XBian - Small, Fast, Lightweight XBMC solution

Try without the overclock settings , just remove config.txt located in /boot/ Thanks for the suggestion but I don't think it's anything to do with the overclock settings because I can run the latest build of OpenElec fine with the following settings (with the same Pi and SD card): arm-freq 900 sdra...

Re: XBian - Small, Fast, Lightweight XBMC solution

I just had another go with a freshly written image. As usual the first boot is ok, but XBian seemed to freeze straight away (or was failing to recognise inputs), so I reset the power and now it hangs on booting. This time it says: "C: Attempted to kill init! ?ing kdb (current=0xc784ac80, pid 1) due ...

Re: XBian - Small, Fast, Lightweight XBMC solution

I've been trying 0.4.1 and my impressions so far are mixed. Video playback is good. Neither Raspbmc or OpenElec allowed me to load and play certain files off my network (the Pi is connected by ethernet to a wireless bridge) but they played flawlessly with XBian. However I often have massive pauses w...

Re: OpenELEC and XBMC video configuration

Quite a few people are having this problem, including me.
I found a workaround on the XBMC forum that's ok for now. Videos are still displaying about 10% too large on my TV, but I can live with that.

Re: Confused about video settings on Debian Squeeze

Awesome thanks, all becomes clear with those default values. Set the top and bottom to -34 and -30 and the sides to zero and it looks much better now.

Mine also just got kicked back a month to mid-May as well. I'm pretty sure I got in earlier with RS so hopeful for a shorter wait from them.

Re: Post your estimated arrival dates

<t>I got the 23rd March. It's annoying because I was one of the people who ordered  Farnell's mysterious Raspberry PI "chipset" early in the morning and didn't realise until later on in the day, by which time my hope of getting in on an early batch was long gone.<br/> <br/> I'm taking these estimate...

Re: USB hub questions

I like the bit where it says "TOP QULITY"!

Do you know what the specified power output is? Maybe it'll be fine, I guess at that price it's worth a punt.
