Re: Is this how the Pi-Supply Works?

First of all, I highly recommend that if you have a Raspberry Pi system that you want to be able to turn off, you get yourself a Pi-Supply . They are brilliant. I have one for each of my raspberry pi's. But I am a curious boy, and wondered how it works. So I've taken there open schematics, and draw...

Re: RPi Mic Preamp

To record and playback audio you can use arecord and aplay which come pre-installed on Raspbian as part of ALSA tools. Assuming your USB device is assigned to hw:1,0 and output is the Pi's headphone port sysdefault:CARD=ALSA then use the following command: arecord -r 48k -f S16_LE -c 1 -t raw -D hw:...

Re: Vnc dos emulation

DOSBox emulation on the Pi is slow this is because it must emulate x86 processor on a non-x86 platform using equivalent code on the fly (and time consuming).
If you want better speed then you should run DOS emulation natively on your current hardware.

Re: Vnc dos emulation

I'm well aware of that but it's also a fact that DOSBox supports more than the x86 platform after all it runs on the Pi's crappy ARM processor.
I would imagine that DOS emulation does exist on the Mac probably not as DOSBox but definitely as some kind of open source / paid program.

Re: Bluetooth Phone Microphone

To record audio with Bluetooth you'll need the Hand Free Profile (HFP) support because you cannot do it with A2DP alone. Unfortunately I cannot help I've only done limited tested with Bluetooth audio on the Pi and gave up since it was more troublesome than it's worth. For A2DP playback I used Pulse ...

Would it be possible to convert this adapter to generate a composite video signal at 1vpp with a 50Hz retrace signal?? Re: How to read a bi-color LED

There are other ways to detect the presence of the TV I'm not sure if the LED would be a good method considering the need to enclose the light sensor.

Does your TV have any USB or Scart connectors at the back??

Does it use the old (AM radio killer) CRT technology??

Re: How to read a bi-color LED

Where is the LED going to be used?? Detecting the flow of current would provide difficult on the Pi since the GPIO can only measure 0v to 3.3v it cannot measure negative voltages. A solution would be to use 2 opto-couplers in parallel but have one with it's anode and cathode swapped to detect curren...

Do you intend to record with your microphone or to simply relay this into a loud speaker?? If you're using your USB microphone then there's no need to use a USB playback device the Pi's analogue output should suffice. Re: Vnc dos emulation

Xming is an X11 server it let lets you run X11 apps remotely thus using the PC to manage the graphics while sparing the Pi's RAM and CPU. While it's not as fast as running X11 apps via startx it performs better than VNC because VNC is constantly taking snapshots of the desktop, hammering the CPU and...

It would also be advisable to change or add an additional SSH port number and do not forward TCP 22 (to minimise on script kiddie attacks).
