Re: Navit on raspberry pi

Once you have chosen a town then you can select a street. Where I have found a problem is selecting a house number as this seems to enter a nonsense long/lat and fail. Still getting the right street is usually good enough. If messing with the OSD I recommend this tip http://wiki.navit-project.org/in...

Thank you, it looks like that is what is I needed. Time will tell! Perhaps that should be part of the package.

Re: OS trashed my space with pointless log files. :(

While the root causes above need to be addressed there is another time bomb ticking if your pi is not left powered up 24/7. The log files should get saved, compressed, cycled and deleted. This happens overnight and I thought I had sorted it all a month ago. But now I realise that when I just use the...

Re: ALSA on Raspbian

Today I have had success with the official Raspbian and USB audio in/out with WSPR. But too many variables to know what worked! 1) New SD card 4Gig Class 10. (£4.82 shipped from China in 6 days) I had been using an 8G Class 4. 2) Installed the 17th July image, resized to disk and configured all via ...

Re: ALSA on Raspbian

Dick, I should add that I had not tried my USB dongle direct, but always ran it through a powered Hub. I have not checked the current drawn but as it is physically warm after a while running I felt it was unlikely to meet the Pi limited supply. I guess I should check. But it works fine through the h...

Re: ALSA on Raspbian

Dick, I too had 50Hz lines and rigcntl problems. I will update my setup notes page later today with the details as being boringly off this thread. But the cheap audio USB I have contains no significant decoupling capacitance. The blinking LED is quite audible with low input and high gains. I have fi...

Re: ALSA on Raspbian

I googled this thread because of a problem and found my own callsign (G3WKW) quoted, so there are a couple of others out there trying to get WSPR to work. I thought I had good success with DarkBasics minimal image but then found that my decoding success seemed to drop. I tracked back and thought thi...
