UPDATE: Got the code working! Thanks for the direction. Thanks! Now to get to work on the code. I want to use the FreeDeck (see image) that I built (thanks to Adam Welch's awesome instructions)to send the controls to the Pi, probably over a VNC connection from my laptop. Or maybe I'll just build one...

I want to use a Pi 4 with an HQ camera as a document camera. I don't need to do any actual recording on the Pi as I am using an HDMI to USB adapter and recording on my Mac laptop. A little bit of googling shows that there is a way to do it. The camera that you bought should work with your Pi but it's going to be a very wide view.

Thanks SurferTim, I'm on the next to last step on a Pi Zero W over ssh. Is there a way to trim down the number of codecs installed to just the ones I'm going to use? The reason I ask is that this is taking a very long time to complete as the Zero is not a speed demon in any sense of those words. lol...
